“One of the highlights of my trip...!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2012

An absolutely amazingly fantastic place....We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this place was...Hazyview was meant to be a night stop over enroute to Kruger. But it turned out, that this place was one of the best we stayed at in SA. Its a short drive out of Hazyview town. Our host, Kurt, makes you feel right at home the minute you set foot in Hamiltons. Besides being a great bar tender, Kurts a chef himself and ensured we had a scrumptious breakfast. There's plenty to do at the farm...horse Safaris (with the very enterprising Grant!), hikes, 4X4 trails etc. There's plenty to do in the area as well...Would recommend using this as your base for a couple of nights to explore the region....or just stay here...kick back, relax and soak in the tranquil environment....

From the pick up at the airport by Grant, we just knew that we had chosen the right place for our two week holiday and by the warm welcome on arrival by Kurt we were convinced.
What a wonderful two weeks we had too! Kurt and Lynn have created an atmosphere of complete bliss. The tranquility of Hamilton Parks is exceptional, the gardens are a haven of peace and the friendship extended by the host and staff outstanding. All our needs were met and more as were our appetites. Thanks go to Kurt for arranging car hir on our behalf and for arranging our overnight stay in Kruger and also for his willingness to spend time just chatting over a drink with us and giving us the benefit of his wisdom about the area. A wonderful and memorable holiday which we would hope to repeat at some time.
Tom and Myra Young, Scotland.

Room Tip: We had a garden facing room but all rooms have beautiful views.

Don’t be scared about the not announced 2.7km dirt road down the hill! When you reach the gate of this gorgeous estate, you feel like you are in a hidden paradise! Nola, Karl and especially Kurt spoiled us with excellent food, fresh drinks and helped in arranging anything we needed, even more! Kurt arranged safaris for us with no extra costs and he was never tired in suggesting nice things to do.

Our thatched roof clean room was big and clean, with a large private patio facing the tropical gardens. A swimming pool and bbq area are also available for all the guests.

We spent 5 days – 6 nights there and would do it again should we go back to Kruger. The property is only 50 mins drive from Mpumalanga airport, 15 mins drive from Phabeni entrance and 40 mins drive from Paul Kruger entrance. Blyde River Canyon is less than 1 hour drive. Kurt arranged safaris for us with no extra costs and he was never tired in suggesting nice things to do. We were close to everything but in a very quiet and beautiful site.

We couldn’t choose a better place to stay and would be there again if we go back to South Africa.

This is a very good place to stay if you want a secluded, tranquil, quiet and beautiful place to stay for 2-3 nights near Kruger (the closest gate is 10km away), but also near Blyde River Canyon and not too far from Nelspruit (which is the main town in the area). This is an authentic kind of place with very few units 10-15 max, set in acres of land and beautiful manicured gardens around the properties. Each room has its own terrace overlooking nothing but nature, and is made of thatched roof which adds to the anthenticity of the place. Breakfast is good, rooms are clean, and it's got all the amenities you need (bar, dining room, beautiful swimming pool, pool table, BBQ all overlooking very exquisite grounds with palm trees, banana trees, and the forest). What makes this place special is the level of service that the owner Kurt puts into everything he does, you want to organize a trip for the day? Kurt will sort it out, you want to have dinner later? no problem, pack your breakfast to catch this early game drive? of course, use the BBQ (at no charge)? yes, you can even ask for a lift (against a small fee).

This is a very special place to stay. This former plantation has been converted into a charming lodge, in a natural and isolated setting. Kurt & Lynn, Nola & Karl are the essence of gracious hosts and made us feel welcome and at home from the beginning. Definitely have your dinner here - both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Kurt is a great chef. Our hot breakfast included eggs, bacon, stewed tomatoes, fruit and delicious warm croissants. Dinners were a treat!
Don't expect fancy, but expect to be warmly welcomed and expect to have a wonderful, memorable stay!

Room Tip: The long driveway down a steep hill can be a bit daunting if you arrive after dark, so try to get th...

You won't see a big sign on the road showing the obscure entrance. You won't see the property sitting along side the highway. You will smile and wonder if you turned down the wrong drive where the little sign says "Lodge" as you head down what seems like a forever dual strip driveway down into a valley. And then.....there it is. A 14 units mix between a B & B and a small lodge. Sitting on 400 ha of beautiful lush bushland, this hideaway is very nicely appointed. The staff are family members and workers who take pride and add a personal touch to the stay. If you are looking for a spot that is about 15 minutes outside Hazyview and you want a peaceful, wonderful setting with animals right outside the electric fence, relax on the outdoor patio/deck off the bar and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Hamilton Parks.

A great place to stay!!

Right from the beginning, when you arrive, they make you feel real welcome.
A real nice, unconstrained atmosphere with lots of personal attention.
When you want to book a trip to, lets say, Krugerpark, they are more than willing to do it for you.
They arranged the perfect guide for us, we saw twice the big five in just one day!
The food is great, a good breakfast to start the day.
Dinner is absolutely delicious, and good wines to go with it.
There is a cosy bar, a nice place to relax in the afternoon or after dinner.
Our room was very spacious and clean.
Absolutely a recommendable place to stay, anyway, we will be back in 2010, already looking forward to it.
