When you have spare time or when the weather is bad for going to the beach, pay this museum a visit to see the amazing collection of shells. Nothing to "break your neck" about, but an interesting way of spending some time.

Very few shells, almost no service. Walk around, look at the few shells in glass cases and take questions home ...

This is a really well laid out little museum of beautiful shells found locally and also from overseas. It is free of charge and takes a good 30 minutes to walk thru.

The JBay shell museum may be small but it has the most impressive collection of shells. The majority of the shells are local, although they also have shells from all over the world. Once you leave the museum I would recommend walking around to the sea side of the building and buying some of the shell figures and objects containing shells that they sell. Well worth the (quick) stop.
