What a beautiful lodge situated in a private parc. This is the real safari experience you feel you are trully on your own with your own ranger. We had Steve as our personal ranger. It was fantastic. With a lot of passion he tells you about all the animals in the parc and knows everything about them. The food and rest of staff are also nice. Our son of 1,5 loved it and could even go on the gamesdrive. The otherones we arranged a nanny through riverbend. All not a problem. We didnt want to leave and we will definately be back at this dream location

We have just spent a night at this delightful lodge next to Addo park.
The room was very well appointed and quiet. The bathroom was a good size too. We had an executive suite. There is a decent sitting area too.
The staff are friendly, hospitable and very attentive. The lodge is small enough to build up a good rapport with them, a definite plus. We had two good game drives whilst we were there. Our guide Michel, was knowledgeable and concerned to make sure we had good drives, even though of course where the animals roam is beyond a human's control!
This was a lovely ending to our holiday in South Africa. I must admit to being in slight trepidation about staying. We have been lucky to stay in the bush in other Southern African countries and wondered how we would react to staying somewhere less remote. However, I can thoroughly recommend the experience. We saw aspects of wildlife we had not seen before e.g zebras fighting and ostriches mating. The lodge is also sufficiently small not to detract from a rural experience.

WHAAAUW what a place to stay. Words cannot describe wat you feel and
see in this lodge. We enjoyed it from the moment we arrived till the moment
we have to say goodbye after five days. It was super and gave us the feeling that
we are amongst friends. The whole staff was so kind and friendly.
Stef you did a super job and you kindness was to sinceer. Steve your game drives
were awesome. Your knowledge of everything and not to forget your humor.
On our last game drive I am convinced that Steve (the elephant ) came to say goodbye
to us as well as Jess did. It was amazing to see that elephant
(the Kruger Boy )in the water. The dinners Jonothan made were amazing. Special thanks to Stef, Stefanie, Jonothan and his wife for the special New Years eve we had together. By the way is the baby there already?
Again a very special thanks to all of River Bend and do not hesitate to book this lodge
You will not regret it. We certainly will come back.

The warm welcome from the team at Riverbend began when we reached the gates to the lodge and were waved through the gates. This warmth continued throughout our stay and everything was done with a smile.
The rooms and grounds are beautiful, and we found the food excellent.

Our guide Mike worked tirelessly to track the animals that we wanted to see and this was very much appreciated - a shame that the ardvark remained elusive! We were also impressed by Mikes respect for the animals & environment - even the dung beetles - as we were very concious that we were going into the animals space. Mike was really informative and made each game drive a great experience. After each game drive the hot towels and hot chocolate were much appreciated.

The staff at Riverbend really work as a team, everyone seems to 'muck in' and have a real pride in delivering excellence and nothing is too much trouble for anyone.

Riverbend Lodge was certainly the highlight of our trip

My wife and I stayed here on the final leg of our honeymoon and it was lovely. The lodge itself is very comfortable and luxurious. The food was excellent. The staff very attentive.
The safaris were great. We were taken by a personal tour guide, Michael, who drove us twice a day looking for game. It was very much unscripted and you never knew what you would come across. The best part was probably when we came across the elephant herd at dusk and the bull started to chase us, I had never seen Michael look so worried! We got to see the lions on our last morning which was great. Only disappointment was we never found any of the rhinos..... a very family friendly place.
