My husband and I have stayed here several times and have never been disappointed. The lobby is pretty, it's clean and is staffed by friendly & helpful people.
Sadly, it's one of the few remaining hotel/motels left in Wildwood. So many of the old "do wop" motels of yesteryear are gone and been replaced by huge, hulking condo complexes. So sad. Wildwood Crest has lost some of it's appeal for me because of that. I remember going "down the shore" to Wildwood Crest every year as a kid and I always loved all the cute motels with the cute names and colorful neon lights.
Anyway - Aqua Beach Resort is clean, it's right on the beach and right at the very beginning of the famous Wildwood Boardwalk. Nice pool area and sometimes they have special events and live music during the high season.
If you have a family or if you are a couple going, you won't be disappointed.

Room tip: Love the ocean front rooms, expensive, but worth it if you like to sit out on a balcony and enjoy the sunrise over the ocean. (we do)

I stayed at The Aqua Beach last week, my husband and I both loved the accommodations are great, we stayed in the beachfront condos. One of the nicest places we have stayed at in Wildwood Crest. Other motels we have stayed at don't compare! The staff was friendly, we came a little early and our room was not ready yet, but they called us as soon as it was ready, which was only a short while, check in was a 3pm, we got there about 1pm.
The condos are spacious, modern, very Tommy Bahama looking!! Very Clean. Perfect for our family of 5! We only had to cross the street to be on the beach.
The Beach is free, the night life is fun, A lot of Restaurants to choose from. Try Beach Creek in Wildwood, great time, excellent food. We also enjoyed eating at Sams Pizza on the boardwalk. For a really nice quiet dinner, Cape May is about a 10 minute drive, We ate at The Ebbitt Room. Very classy, food was excellent. Walked the Mall, got ice cream and bought some cute souvenirs.
My favorite was the beach, the sand is white, its clean, and not over crowded. There are boarded paths down every street. If you forgot your beach chairs, you can get some down at the beach rentals, on the beach. Chairs, Umbrellas and Boogie boards for rent.

Hands down the best stay in the Wildwoods, we will stay again!

Room tip: Stay in the Condos if you have a large family

Loved it! Just got back from staying in a "Maree" style 3 bdrm condo. It wasnt AS nice as the brochure pic, but very close. The carpet, furniture, and bedding were very nice. A huge upgrade; not that typical motel style run down carpet and itchy bedspreads. With the full kitchen and laundry room, it was a home away from home. The condos also offer their own heated pool and spa, which was nice when we didnt feel like walking over to the main hotel. Aqua Beach Resort is on the beach, but the beach crest condos are 1 block behind. We still had a direct ocean view as advertised, and it was nice. The Pool and spa at Aqua is very nice! I didnt eat at the restaurant but i noticed they offered poolside service :) They also have towel service. The sun deck w/ the hammocks was amazing! great view! Staff was pleasant, especially housekeeping. Plenty of Towels, and they checked in everyday. I would definitely stay here again. Their prices are right in line w/ everyone else, and this is, so far, the nicest place ive stayed in Wildwood. (comparing to Montego Bay & El Coranodo)

I booked my stay without looking on trip advisor and was concerned when I later saw some negative reviews here. But everything was great with our stay.

We just returned from a 4 day stay at the beachfront condos. I can certainly say that we would never stay there again for multiple reasons:
1. There was no phone in our room to call and contact the front desk. How are we supposed to obtain housekeeping or any other needs we may have as valued guests???
2. The rooms were not supplied with "everything we need" as advertised on the website. We were told that we had to purchase our own paper towels and coffee filters. There weren't even any garbage bags in the rooms. We didn't even have a toaster!!!! I believe the website states the following: "Our suites are fully supplied with laundry, linens, toiletries and kitchenware. Our management team knows that when planning a vacation you need not be concerned with unit supplies and inventories." Also... "a fully equipped kitchen"... to me, that should include a toaster, paper towels and even coffee filters.
3. There was no WIFI!!! Who doesn't have WIFI this day in age?? This is a MUST for any hotel/resort.
4. There was no housekeeping service!! We had no supply of bath towels. And when we called the front desk (from our personal cell phones!) to get pool towels we were told we had to walk across the street and get them ourselves because they had no one available to bring them over... really??? Another blurb from the website states: "With daily housekeeping service and our full time property management staff you can check into your suite, relax and peacefully enjoy your vacation while leaving the worries to us." Hmmmmm, this is interesting considering that we were told we had to fetch our own towels and supplies.
5. The carpets were so FILTHY we were afraid to walk around our room barefoot.
6. Our bed linens were NOT CLEAN!! There were blood stains on the comforter in one of the bedrooms!! And the sheets smelled disgusting like they have never been washed. It was appalling.
7. We had to walk through the exit stairwell to get to our room... seriously??? What kind of layout is that, who designed this building?!?!
8. They should be sued for false advertisement, the website is completely deceiving and they have a lot of nerve to consider this slum hole to be a "hotel resort", even for Wildwood. At $350/night, I expect A LOT more than what I received... A LOT MORE!!! VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! I believe the website states: "Richly decorated residences, these units are uniquely upscale and exquisite"... maybe for the bums in central park, but certainly not for your average middle class families.
9. Beachfront condo? More like, condo behind another hotel that is in front of the beach but you can see the beach if you look around the corner of the big hotel that is blocking the view...
10. Our "pool" was about 12 feet long and located in the parking garage... really???
11. Our room smelled like propane gas.
12. Our dryer was broken and there was no maintenance team available to fix it.

Overall, these accommodations are not worth a penny more than $100/night. This "resort" is extremely low class and unaccommodating to its guests that I would NEVER recommend a stay here to anyone I know, not even someone I disliked. COMPLETE RIP OFF and COMPLETELY DISSATISFIED!!! The management team should be ashamed of themselves!!

Dear Patti S.

I am sorry that you did not receive everything you needed during your stay. Not all consumables are supplied and we will attempt to be more clear about this in the future. The hotel lobby and surrounding public area does have wifi, however some of the condominiums do not. At any time housekeeping or the front office would have supplied you with additional towels. All of the linens and laundry are indeed clean, and inspected. Not all light discoloration on white fabric is "blood". I'm sorry that you do not like the design of the building and the means to enter and exit the rooms. The Beachcrest Condos were newly constructed less than 10 years ago, and have undergone two additional renovations during that timeframe, including a new and expanded pool on the Beach Crest site. I'm sorry that it did not meet your expectations. We do indeed have maintenance available to repair any broken item. Again, my apologies for your inconvenience.
