My family and I have stayed at the Newport since I was 13years old. I have enjoyed going down looking forward to spending time with them. We stayed at the Newport because the hotel we were staying in had to man teenagers in it and the Newport was right next to the convention center. We enjoy the kite festival and you couldn't pay for a better view. The price is not so bad either.
It may not be the cleanest place, but the reason I go every year is because I get that old fashion customer service. It is great when you go to the Newport and you are greeted by Virginia the hotel manager. She always tells us how she wants to hear whatever is wrong with the room and we have had things break down or things wrong with the room, but she has always fixed the problem right away. We never have problems with teenagers staying at the hotel because she makes sure that anyone that stays there is over 25 with a major credit card.
I recommend this hotel but only because of the atmosphere Virginia has made for it. If she wasn't there it would just be another hotel.

We've stayed at the Newport now for 5 years for our summer vacation. We've never been disappointed or felt that the staff is lacking in any way. Clean rooms, great location...you get what you pay for. If you want a 5 star hotel/resort, stay in Wildwood Crest or Cape May.

I just arrived from Wildwood, and read these reviews about Newport Motel. Well, maybe in the past there might have been some problems - I don't know - all I can say is: the beds are extremely confortable, I slept like a baby; same goes for my hubby and daughter. We had two individual rooms which she loved. Towels were very clean, toiletries were provided, bed sheets were immaculate white and fresh smelling, little fridge took care of my fruits, beverages, wine, water, etc. Maid went every morning around 10 am. The view is awsome!!! The only bad thing is that the pool is not heated. Remember, this is not a Hilton!!! and for the price.....common' you cannot get better. Ahh by the way, ice machine works as well as the ATM. WOULD WE GO BACK TO THIS PLACE? OF COURSE, WE ENJOYED THE STAY FOR LITTLE MONEY. One negative point: They don't give you the TV control - you must pay a $5 deposit. ON THE OTHER SIDE - WILDWOOD's rides and water park's prices are, outrageously ridiculous!!!

Took scout group for annual BeachJam event. First time deciding to stay in a hotel and not camp on the beach....wrong choice. Just because it's an older hotel at the beach isn't an excuse for being run down and dirty. Like said in previous reviews, elevator is ANCIENT, dirty & scary! Aren't there required inspections on those things??!! Electrical panel box inside the elevator was hanging by one screw!

Lamps didn't work, shades were filthy. No hot water...unless like another reviewer said, you let it run for 20 minutes. Once we got the shower to come on...couldn't get it turned off. No hairdryer. Towels were left in room wet and dirty. Carpet filthy.

Had to call "emergency number" first night because no one in charge was on the premises. Sunday morning, discovered sleeping teenagers in the car next to mine....wonder if they partied too much or just couldn't stand to sleep in their room!!??

We had a wonderful vacation last year and stayed at this resort. The thing is we were on a budget and didnt expect to stay in a five star hotel. We really were happy with the room for the price we got. If you are looking for a 4 star hotel that is close to the beach DONT GO TO WILDWOOD !! The beach there is long and it takes a little walking to get to the ocean, from anywhere in Wildwood !!! We were right across from the Wildwoods sign and were right off of the board walk. We had a blast and will go back and stay at the Newport Beach Resort. The pool was clean and there was someone there everyday to clean up our room.

We booked this hotel hell via phone and were unbelievable shocked when we arrived. There were stains on everything from the floor to the bedspread, some of them blood. There was also junk all over the floor in front the the two rooms were had booked. They offered to clean up but you would have to take a match to the place and start all over again. We left immediately, minus $328 that they wouldn't refund us for the 1st nights stay in each room. Luckily we found a much nicer place down the street. This dump is registered with the WIldwood Hotel/Motel Association. We promptly wrote them a letter about our experience but they declined to answer. Sorry this place is still open.

The room was extremely small, hardly big enough for 1 person, let alone a family. The air conditioner didn't work, nor did most of the lights and the t.v. When I complained they said no refunds, and that was that. I had booked for three nights and stayed the first for lack of vacancies in the area. One night was one too many. My teenage sons love the ocean and the beach and when they ask to leave you know its bad. Shame on you Newport Beach and shame on the unfriendly Greek manager that would do anything to make a buck.
