Booked at last min. only room available was the ocean front. Room was some what clean but older furniture in sitting room mad the room look worse, Maid service cleaned rm on a daily basis and did a pretty good job. Had Fridg/Micro/4 cup coffee, 2 beds with pull out sofa private balcony. The view was very good. Note that If you could'nt find parking under the Hotel you had to park about 3 blocks away, not that great if you need to leave some items in the car or drive to a differnt location and return. The staff/frnt desk was nice. Some reviews on this site were concerning so we only booked 2 nights since it was last min and could not get a refund. Overall not bad. the price was high but we paid for the ocan view however the furniture was really worn in the sitting area and was not modern or up to date.

We looked on the internet and thought the hotel and rooms seemed nice. Once we got there we could not believe our eyes. The 1st room we had nothing worked, from the old fashion 1950 refrigerator (whose freezer section hadnt been defrosted in months, couldnt even get food in it), to lights that didnt work, and balcony doors where screens were falling out, and the balcony doors didnt lock. The rooms were dirty and mold in the bathrooms. We had the 2 bedroom and sofa couch (might as well sleep on the floor). The sheets had holes in them and the blanket for the sofa bed had huge holes in them. It is a tight fit for 5 people. We ended up getting a second room since the 1st was so bad and it wasnt much better, but at least the doors locked. I loved Wildwood but would not and do not recommened the Diplomat to anyone. And also the swimming pool close's at 7:00. Trying to use your computer at this motel is also a nightmare.

We stayed for 5 days and enjoyed every one of them. When checking in the staff was super nice and very inviting. The room was perfect for 4 people. It included two queen beds and a pull out couch and was very clean.
This hotel is located super close to the board walk and beach. Also, there are many great places to eat within walking distance.

We stayed at the Diplomat for 5 days. I can't wait to come back and stay for a full week in August. The facilities were great. The staff treated us like family. It is close to the rides and attractions. The large pool is very nice - was quiet and relaxing. I highly recommended the Diplomat to everyone.

We were a group of two familes with kids and had a horrible stay. Booked for two night and vacated after one night. The hotel didn't refund the money for the 2nd night.

Myself, my wife and my two young children stayed at this hotel in early August 2008. we had searched the internet a month before and there really was not much available choices in Cape May or Wildwood, so we booked at the Diplomat a bedroom (2 double beds) + kitchen/living room with fridge and stove. believe me the units seem bigger on the internet than in real life.

OK the place is near the boardwalk, central to where all the night action is, but beware the tightness of the rooms, the mildew in the bathroom (our unit anyways), stains on the sofas left by previous tenants... this place is really a 1.5 to 2 star location.

if like me your standards are higher, then you should aim for Wildwood Crest, Cape May or seek advice from a local realtor since LOTS of housing units are for vacation rental.

Best of luck
