4 1/2 hours from Albany NY.....perfect weekend or midweek getaway and prices drop drastically right after Labor Day. As long you don't care about amusement park rides, enjoy everything Wildwoods has to offer at 1/2 price any day following Labor Day. Our beach time was 80+ degrees the whole time.

Beach is clean. People are friendly and it is free! The water is cleaned, they even have dog beach. There is a fenced in area and specula area for dogs to swim in the ocean!

We really enjoyed our first time stay but did not realize 90% of the town shuts down the first week of October so there was pretty much nothing to do. We did find a mini golf open ….but pretty much nothing else. The beach is quite a walk to get to the water butin the summer months it probably is shorter :)

Clean, fun, and open. Long walk to ocean from boardwalk guarantees that it is NEVER crowded or noisy. Love this place. 2 miles of boardwalk, my favorite in the USA and I've been to many in California as well as other oceanside towns. Love it in summer but even more in Fall and Spring. SO much to do for families and singles alike.

We went there after labor day so it wasn't crowded at all so it was great for me. Some things on the boardwalk were closed but most were still open. We had fun walking up and down the boardwalk. No fee for the beach is rare for NJ. Someone needs to explain to NJ that it is nuts to pay to go on the beach.

we went to visit a few friends staying there - went to the beach for half the day- the water was great! and there was a sandbar so easy to stand up or swim over the waves - we did get sunburnt but it was overall a great time.

We typically stay in the Crest, but spent a night in the center of wildwood this past Sunday. The beach was not clean, and it’s just way too long of a walk to the water.

Wildwood Beach and Boardwalk is the best place to spend a weekend with family. There is no fee to enter the Beach which is rare in NJ and also it has huge parking lots with affordable fee ($5-$7) for a day. There are so many hotels where you can stay which are on the ocean front.

There is long walk from Boardwalk to Beach (0.5 mile). We heard that there are beach taxis ($3) which takes you from boardwalk to beach but those are not operating after Labor Day. Beach water is nice however with some sea weed and some aquatic friends.
Water is shallow and you can enjoy more in water without any fear.

Boardwalk is around 2 miles but the best part is the Morey Pier where you can enjoy food, drinks and rides. There is a monster truck show and ride which is awesome. There are so many souvenir shops to shop from. One more thing, the boardwalk has benches all over so you can sit and enjoy the time.

In nutshell, awesome place to spend family weekend.

Wildwood beach has the easiest surf for swimming and boogie boarding. Although the beach is long there is walkways part of the way to the water.
