I've always heard mixed opinions in regard to this motel and while we have a "regular" place we stay in Wildwood, an overnight trip gave us the opportunity to try the Blue Palms (keep in mind overnight stays are not usually allowed during the summer season- a special event made it possible for us to spend a single night at the motel and is not something I'd expect the motel to allow again in the future.)
The motel is an older facility that received some upgrades in recent years but remains fairly basic, which is typical of most places in Wildwood. Our room had some fairly old furniture but everything was in decent shape and the room was clean, which is always extremely important. Blue Palm's best feature is its excellent location a mere block from the heart of the Wildwood boardwalk as well as the beach. It's entirely possible for a vacationer to park his/her car at the motel and never have to use it to go anywhere in Wildwood because so much is within walking distance.
As is the case with most Wildwood motels, the rooms all face the pool area (except those in the breezeway area) which means things can get noisy if people are hanging out in the pool area until the later hours (which happens more often than not in Wildwood). That said, we weren't kept up by any noise so either the doors are thick or the hotel had an unusually quite crowd that night.
There are more luxurious (and expensive) motels in the area, especially if you move south to WIldwood Crest, but very few have a location that beats this one.
