I am currently staying at the Westfield Inn and highly recommend it. What do I like in particular? The excellent location: right in town near dozens of first class restaurants, retail shops, a theater, and open-air entertainment every block or so by professional musicians every Tuesday night weather-permitting, extremely close to the NYC train. Also, a very very safe area.

I also like the quaint cozy motel atmosphere, free parking, the super-cleanliness, the Club room well stocked for breakfast, free USA Today newspaper, the friendly service people, very spacous business class room and the in-room wireless computer access. Local calls are free. Despite what you may see in the advertising (an error), pets are NOT permitted, which I LOVE! Who wants to stay in a room which a strange dog or cat has been in! I find this trend in large hotels disgusting!

If you want to do a romantic weekend and maybe visit NYC but stay at a nearby NJ inn without the high price tag, THIS is your place. It may not be the newest place, but it sure has so much going for it.

Nice place and good location except for the train whistle every now and then. It is a bit dated but well run and they make you fell right at home. The Make sure to go to the Jolley Trolley for lunch or dinner and drinks.

As a business traveler in the Northeast who is out at least 50 nights per year, this marks the start of my "Unchain Hotel Run." I use trip advisor often and consider the 3 rating rating the break point. Below 3 NO! and above 3 maybe. This hotel certainly is worthy of it's rating.

The hotel was built in the 70's and it looks like that era. It is kept up extremely well and with a lot of pride. The rooms are clean and neat. The front desk had fresh baked cookies out which I barely resisted. Quick check in, great wireless internet , and bright rooms. The hotel area has a ton of restaurants and shopping all within walking distance. This is an affluent downtown area with lots of quaint shops and uniques restaurants. Had a great meal at the Jolly Trolly just down the way. Try the beer cheese soup if it's available.

I know some reviews mention the train runs behind the hotel. True, but it's no deal breaker. A welcomed slice of life after too many EWR airport hotels.

This hotel is great value and is in a very convenient location. I used to live in Westfield and go back occasionally to travel through the local area for shopping and to see friends. Like the other reviewer, I don't make use of the breakfast on offer but either go to Vicki's Diner (which is a 2 minute walk away and is excellent) or drive 3 minutes to go to the Westfield Diner.
The train station is at the back of the property and this is both a blessing and a curse - great to have it so close, but make sure you don't have a room right at the back of the property, or you'll be awoken by the train whistle from about 5 am onwards, not so good if you have been enjoying the cocktails at the Jolly Trolley bar (also highly recommended!)
Westfield has some great restaurants - we recommend the Jolly Trolley for a quick meal, and also Teresa's and Sweet Waters.
The shopping is great - the town has all the stores you'll need - Eileen Fisher, Victoria's Secret, Coach, Blue Mercury, Blue Tulip, so there's plenty to give your credit card some major damage on a Sunday.

Stayed at The Westfield Inn for a family function. The place is a little old but the room was very adequate and clean. They provide a limited continental breakfast which we did not use but instead walked a block away to a local diner for a hot meal. All and all The Westfield Inn was a fair bargain.
