My wife and I wanted a nice steak dinner out, but couldn't think of anyplace close by that was good. My wife happened to see an ad for Wayne Steak House claiming it was the best in New Jersey, and since it was nearby we checked it out. We found it near a car dealership, pool hall and pizza joint on a side street off of Hamburg Turnpike. We weren't expecting much, but were very pleasantly surprised. All of the food we had was excellent--oysters on the half shell, double cut lamb chops, bone in ribeye perfectly cooked, and gratis appetizers and whipped cream (freshly home made) & strawberries dessert. Service was excellent and decor was fine. Although a bit expensive, BYO helped, and portions were large enough to give us more than one extra doggie bag meal. We highly recommend this restaurant based on our first experience there.

Went there for the 3rd time on a busy Saturday night. Right from the get go, service was spotty with several goofs. Lobster bisque soup was OK but not very lobster-y and not very bisque-y. Blue point oysters were excellent aside from being served 10 minutes after the soup arrived.. Rib eye steaks were tremendously good but a tad too rare but I'm ok with that. Server all but disappeared during the main course so we had no chance to inquire. Portions are large so there was little room left for dessert. Coffee was good but expensive at $4. Server showed up to drop off the check and maybe 45 seconds later another server picked it up to process, returning to our table after he realized there was no payment inside. This then happened twice more in the next 5 minutes. I guess they wanted us to leave.

If you want a rococo decor or lot's of sizzle, except on your steak; go elsewhere, but if you want a fabaulous piece of beef cooked to your preference, accompanied by a delicious salad and sides all delivered in a crisp clean space Wayne's is just what you want.
The soupcon is that this is all for $20 or more less than Ruth Chris and the other chains charges.
Had a fabulous rib eye, floating fried onions and great postatoes that was as good as I used to order at the Palm.

We had a very good dinner here. BUT, this is NOT Ruth's Chris or Peter Lugers, so don't go with that in mind or you'll be disappointed. We found it packed on a weekday night and, yes, it is hard to locate in the back with a sign that is not too noticeable. And, yes, it is expensive but, on the other hand, the BYO helps to reduce that. We found that a steak advertised as being for 2 easily fed 3 with some still being left over, so keep that in mind. It comes with good onion rings and an unusual salad. Some sides were good and some were not great. But....still....we don't really have a steak house in this area and the steaks WERE delicious. The service was typical of any steak house in my opinion--breezy and helpful but not fussy. No complaints. We plan to return because the meat was excellent and at least it isn't Italian!!

We called Wayne Steakhouse and asked about Christmas dinner and was told they were going to be open. They took our reservation for Christmas day. My parents arrived to pick us up for my birthday dinner. (yes my birthday is also Christmas) We arrive at Wayne steakhouse to an empty parking lot and a locked door. Really? If you were going to be closed why take a reservation. Anyway we found some other place open to save the day. We contacted them after the holidays and they did not seem to care. Thanks for nothing Wayne steakhouse!
