Made a solo trip to the Taphouse Grille and took a seat (1 of 14) at the bar. A very friendly bartender gave me a beer menu to peruse. Like any good one it provided taste notes and ABV figures and was nicely broken down by style: Lagers, Belgian Style & Wheat, Pale Ales, Golden, Fruit & Dark Ales and Porters and Stouts. The menu listed 23 drafts in all, but didn't include bottles. The drafts were all crafts; the bottles appeared to be macros.

Being in New Jersey I opted for the not-quite-local Head High IPA from Kane Brewing. One off-putting bit of presentation: I had to drink this tasty beer out of a Coor's Light glass. To my great relief the next beer, a Carton of Milk stout from Carton Brewing arrived in a Dogfish Head glass.

I visited on a Tuesday, which is a special night for burgers. $15 for a burger and a pint. The Taphouse Grille makes a damn good burger. Mine was perfectly seasoned and cooked. A generous portion of hand cut fries rounded out the plate.

I can't say I was too wowed by the decor in the bar. Brick walls, not particularly well-lit. The dark space felt more dingy than cozy. The place was clean. Plenty (5) of flat screens offered a variety of sports.

This restaurant got about half of everything right. The valet parking thing is irksome and irritating, not to mention unnecessary. The decor is good. A little loud. The waiter seemed more interested in padding the bill then taking good care of us. My specialty burger was good, but I ordered it medium well and came out very well done. French fries were really good. Fish and chips were good; a generous portion. Prices were fair, although I thought $16.00 for a burger was a little high. The drinks were good. They seemed to have a fair share of customers for a friday night. I'm just not quite sure why. There are many good places to eat in the Wayne area. Not sure if we will go back.

If your looking for a great burger and a cold beer this is the place. They have delicious appetizers, try the short rib tacos, eggplant or a blue cheese salad. For kids the Mac & Cheese is spot on. The Pizza is also very good. For desert have the Apple empanada or the Banana bread pudding, if it's available get it.

*On a bad note, I can't prove it but I think the valet stole my wife's navigation, so make sure to keep you valuables locked up. I think the owners should hire a new parking staff and do background checks.

I like this restaurant because it's close to home and a good place to meet up for a happy hour. The bar area is on the small side, although the food is good and there are plenty of TVs so you can watch a game.

After years and years of failed restaurants in this location, Taphouse Grille has finally pulled it together.

Great food, excellent beer program, and great people make this a fantastic local addition.
