“Nothing special about it...”
Reviewed April 28, 2013 via mobile

It's a place that offers country line dancing classes and becomes a club afterwards. There's nothing special about it. Their dance floor is spacious, so you don't bump into anybody when trying to pull your cowboy/cowgirl moves and the instructors are funny. It's not a bad experience, but its definitely not a great one.

“Had a good time dancing with friends”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

We went to Colorado Cafe a couple times over the last few months, once just on the spur of the moment to check it out and last night to celebrate a birthday. We had about 10 friends who met there when the club opened and got tables convenient to the dance floor.

They have a really big dance floor that is very well maintained for country dancing. Knowing that all clubs do different dances to a lot of songs, we had sent some requests in advance, most of them pulled from the club's own website, as we were looking to dance all night! It was a little disappointing that there were a lot of songs/dances played that we didn't know, when there were so many in common. It is great that the line dancers and couples dancers fill the floor all the time, but it doesn't bode well for those who want to venture out and try to follow along if they don't know the dance since there isn't much free space. We did carve out space a few times to do a dance we knew which was different from the one everyone else was doing.

We did order dinner and the food and service were good.

All in all, we had a very good time and would go back again. Next time, we might ask the DJ for his line up of songs/dances and try to learn a few new ones before we go out.

“Snooby crowd...”
Reviewed March 8, 2012

This would be my second visit to the cafe and it proved to be my last. I stopped in with four of my friends for Line Dancing on Wednesdays. The food was great but the drinks and the crowd left little to be desired. On Wednesdays, there's a much older crowd who tends to be snobby, forgetting that people head out to have a fun time. Colorado Cafe's management should make a general announcement in the beginning of the dance evening that its not "Dancing with the Stars". I experienced, awkward gazes, comments from people who could be my grandparents! We spent a pretty penny and left early. May I mention if you encounter Dave the bouncer you’re in for receiving an even bigger stinky attitude. Don't bother going if you are not a Caucasian either, these "Texas Hillbillies" forget there in Watchung, NJ....lol.

“COLORADO CAFE IS THE BEST FOR DANCING, FOOD, FUN”
Reviewed February 8, 2012

I've been going to the Colorado Cafe for nearly 14 years. When I was new to dancing I found the instructors always ready to help if anyone had trouble with a dance. And thats still true today they are all very professional, friendly and always willing to help. The staff are always friendly and keep the dance floor clear for us to dance. The DJ's are the best around.
(Love ya Bill and Scottie) Even if you don't dance, its so much fun to watch the dancers on the floor. so many different styles and variations going on. The bartenders and waitress's are always ready to get you a drink, or food with a smile !!
If you've never seen country line dancing...check out the Colorado Cafe sometimes, you'll love it.

“I will never go back there! total discrimination of European people!”
Reviewed January 15, 2012

We found the place very nice and clean when we first came there. After paying for our entries- we were asked to show our receipts to enter the facility. One of our friend did not get any receipt so he was rudely forced to pay the entry one more time as the stuff people denied to go through camera's record. After we finally entered we were thirdly asked to show our receipts and then we were finally stamped. We had so many troubles finding anyone to sit us to the table so we decided to find a free table so we could get a rest. One of the waitress working there had so many issues with us because she could not understand the fact that we needed the table. She was acting weird and impolite interrupting our table conversation by asking us several times if we were stamped. She send a security staff to our table to checked for a fifth time if all of us were stamped and had proper IDs even though they have checked us at the very beginning. The security guy did not even know how to properly ask for a documentation while approaching the table with people immersed into conversation. He just steped in and yelled- " where is your ID"?(just so you know everybody was over 21, and most of us were over 30) After so many unpleasant incidents in Colorado cafe restaurant we finally left.
