“Very accommodating!”
Reviewed February 24, 2010

We decided to make a last-minute call to spend the night, as snow was forecasted and our child had a ski race early the next morning. The owner, Jack, couldn't have been more accommodating. He gave us a very reasonable rate and helped us find a casual spot for dinner.

Then we relaxed on the tall comfy bed watching a movie on the DVD player in the TV. The rooms were lovely.

Allison and Jack were absolutely amazing! The house is in a great location, only steps away from Mount Creek. We came with a pure purpose to ski and that is what we did for three days straight. We could literary walk to the ski resort from the Alpine Haus. Breakfast and accommodations were excellent!

We are planning on going back there for another ski escape with friends!

This has been my fifth time I have stayed here. I have never been dissapointed. The rooms are very nice. Even though I mainly stay there for business, I have contemplated on traveling with my wife. I beleive she would enjoy it.

I stayed in the Buttercup Suite and found it to be just delightful and very homey. Allison and Jack instantly became like family to me. The breakfasts were outstanding. I will look no further than the Alpine Haus the next time I need a place to stay in New Jersey.

I have been to the Alpine Haus a few times and it's time to write a review.

Alpine Haus a bit less fussy and upscale than many of the places in the area. It has more rooms and is less pricey than the local competitors. You have a pretty good selection of room types and sizes and the suites in the carriage house are wonderful. The size and comfort of the room can vary. Third floor rooms are the most private, but have sloped ceilings, so they're best for short people. Some of the rooms have more comfortable beds than others. I would NOT recommend the Forget-Me-Not room, which has an uncomfortable bed, is noisy (it's in a spot where you can hear the interior works of the house all night long) and is also cold in the winter. Rooms are clean and well-maintained. One word of warning about the showers though. The hot water takes forever to warm up. You will be running that water for a long time before it comes to temperature, so if you're in a hurry, give yourself a couple of extra minutes.

The location is close to the road and some reviews have complained of road noise, but I never noticed any.

Location is wonderful. If you're a skier, a horse lover, a hiker, a golfer, or a swimmer, there are options for you everywhere. Hosts are friendly and helpful and can tell you how to find all of it. You can walk right across the street to the water park.

Breakfast is the big downfall of the place. It doesn't change much. It doesn't seem very imaginative. If you're lactose intolerant, be prepared for a lot of dairy products. Some of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten have been at various bed and breakfasts around the country. The Alpine Haus pales in comparison to just about all of them. I suppose they're better than a plain continental breakfast though.

If you're looking for a good value, a clean pretty room, and a good location, the Alpine Haus is for you. It's more intimate than a hotel, but not quite as plush as some of the other B&Bs around.

The Alpine Haus was perfect in every way. Nicely decorated, welcoming rooms, and the breakfast in the morning topped off a pleasant stay. Warm peaches with homemade granola & vanilla yogurt, apple crumb cake, & upside down french toast. What can I say "Yummmm!"

I've stayed at a few B&B's and this one had it all...quiet, relaxing, charming rooms, and a fantastic breakfast! There are many things to do in the area from shopping to horseback riding to the waterpark. It's a wonderful place to stay.
