“Why leave NJ?”
Reviewed March 25, 2014

Don't waste your money on an airline ticket, airport shuttle, airline tickets and horrible air travel food...imagine the value of that money spent on SPECTACULAR Spa treatments and delicious gourmet meals instead! Don't waste your precious time getting hurried, hustled and bustled at lovely, scenic, aggravating EWR, JFK, or LGA Airport. You can have a great "tropical" getaway right here in NJ! We left Bergen County by car at 10am Saturday morning, and by 11am, we had arrived, they had our room ready, we checked in and our vacation had begun! We relaxed and swam in the heated indoor/outdoor pool for 2 hours (instead of sitting on a cramped airplane to Florida), baked in the sauna, and then stepped into the Spa for a great raindrop/ aromatherapy shower and our Couples Massage! We went back to the room and took a nap in our luxury suite with gas fireplace and beautiful mountain views! We dressed and went down to dine at Kites and thoroughly enjoyed their gourmet offerings - unusual, fresh and delicious! The whole experience made us feel like we were in a tropical paradise, without all the fuss and expense of air travel! The quaint towns surrounding the resort have interesting little boutique and antique shops to visit, horseback riding, skiing and lots of scenic places to hike, but we were there to relax. We picked up some snacks and breakfast items at the health food store, took in a recent movie from the comfort of our room, and enjoyed hot coffee, tea and our breakfast after sleeping in on Sunday morning. We left feeling as if we had been away for LONG weekend, because we skipped all the hassle and got right to the vacation! You don't need to run far to escape the cold and snow, reduce YOUR carbon footprint, and MAXIMIZE your relaxation at this excellent Resort & Spa. Why ever leave NJ?

Just got back from a couple days at the Minerals Resort and Spa. We had a great time. here are the pros:

1) The staff is incredibly friendly and genuine. Not just one or two, but pretty much all of them. I travel ALOT and i have to say that i found everyone just fabulous and helpful there.

2) There is so much going on there, the entire family will be happy. I LOVED the pools and i loved the outside heated pool (in the winter)

3) The hotel was very clean and well maintained.

4) Kites Restaurant seemed very nice, but we just had breakfast there.

A couple suggestions:

1) while i LOVE the pool, The smell of chlorine is overpowering. There is no way you can ventilate better? This was the only significant issue. There has to be some way to make it better.

2) I would have put some waiter service at the pool. just a couple would do the trick, especially at the outside pool.

Other than those 2 points, everything was fabulous. thanks for a great weekend.

We booked one night here for a Mountain Creek ski weekend and enjoyed it. We stayed with our 2 boys, ages 8 and 11. We picked this hotel because of the proximity to Mountain Creek and for the amenities. Our room was ready at 3pm and we had a deluxe room with 2 queen beds, and a balcony. The beds were comfortable, but not to die for. I would rate it a 3 star hotel. Nice, updated bathroom, standard room features. We were surprised to find that there was a schedule of events happening that day. We enjoyed the Irish Step Dancers that performed at 4pm (free, St. Patrick's Weekend) and the kids enjoyed the magician who performed at 5 in the lobby. We had dinner at the on site restaurant, Kites, and it was good. Make a reservation as this is the only on site dining option. It was fancier than we expected, but they were very family friendly and offered a kids menu. Entrees are around $18-24, kids meals under $10. Friendly wait staff. We booked a raquet ball court after dinner and had fun family time ($10 for the court for one hour, $5 rental per raquet). The pool was a must for us and the inside pool was spacious and fun for the kids. There is a fun swim out feature that allows you to jump in indoors, then swim through a curtain to get to the outside pool. This was great! We were all in the outdoor pool which is 95F, under the stars with snow all around us. Very fun feature. It's a great place for families. There is also a free shuttle (blue) bus that will take you back and forth to Mountain Creek for skiing and activities. My kids thought this was fun.

Room Tip: It's a big hotel. If the pool or other amenities are important to you, ask for a room near that...

We just had our wedding March 14, 2014 at Minerals Resort and Spa and my husband and I could not be happier about choosing this place! From the day we booked our wedding a year ago, Danielle our Wedding Event Coordinator, had been in constant contact with us answering any questions we had and offering her support and suggestions during the entire planning process to ensure that our wedding would be exactly what we had in mind and it was! The weekend of our wedding, from the moment we arrived, Nicole our Wedding Planner met us in the lobby and assisted us with everything! Even giving us her personal cell phone number and being available to us during our entire stay, not just the day of the wedding. We were treated like royalty by everyone and made to feel like part of the family. The entire staff were so friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Josh our Wedding Day Attendant checked in on our entire bridal party throughout the entire day bringing us food, drinks and anything we needed or wanted. Everything far exceeded our expectations and everyone cannot stop raving about the food, the
atmosphere and the wonderful staff! Special thanks to Danielle, Nicole, Josh, Stephanie, Yehia and the entire staff at Minerals Resort and Spa for making our special day so perfect! It was truly a dream come true!

We just returned from another fantastic stay at the Minerals Hotel and snowboarding at Mountain Creek. The hotel was beautiful as always;wonderfully maintained and very comfortable.Kim and her staff once again made the check in effortless and quite welcoming.Felt like coming home again.I swam in the very warm outside pool for 5 hours, played basketball, wandered the pretty grounds and dined at Kites restaurant. The service was great and the food delicious, fully enjoyed along with the beautiful fireplace view. Our room was just awesome with a gorgeous view of the mountains and ski trails from our balcony. Although I take a welcome break from weight training when vacationing, the hotel boasts a fantastic gym and health club with countless classes and activities. We look very forward to our next stay and are thrilled that our piece of paradise remains so perfect.Come to the Minerals!

Room Tip: Get a balcony with a view and enjoy!

Totally not what I expected I went for a romantic weekend at a 3 star spa with my wife and now wish we would have considered another place.

We were greeted with a smile when we checked in but that was the last pleasant moment. After checking in we attempted to call for room service but after several attempts all we got was a voicemail. We ended up going to Kites and again they fell short for a "3 star spa".

We were seated and waited almost 10 minutes before someone came to take our order. The price was $$ and the food is really nothing to brag about but the staff is what made it a terrible experience. Waiters rushing past you to avoid being asked for help food arrives but nothing to eat it with but the check sure got there nice and fast.

The next morning we attempted to order room service and get some breakfast and sure enough...voicemail. We dragged ourselves to Kites since it's the only thing open to have some of the tasteless eggs, oily sausage, and half cooked potatoes. I couldn't even finish it and after we checked out, pretty quickly, stopped at the nearest McDonalds.

-Aesthetically it looks nice 6-10
-Customer service gets a 3 out of 10
-Amenities could be updated 3-10. (No wifi) who carries a laptop anymore so sorry Ethernet cable you're useless to me.
-Staff all around needs a SERIOUS overhaul and that always starts with management.

Overall this is at most a day trip location save your money and go somewhere else.

Dear NickFurry,

Thank you for reaching out to us and sharing your experiences in regards to your stay. I deeply regret to hear that you did not enjoy your visits to the Kites restaurant and found the service to be lacking. Rest assured that this experience is outside the norm and we will resolve it most aggresively. I have passed on your particular survey to our Food & Beverage team and they will use this as a training tool to further better not only our service, but to mitigate this occurence from happening again.

I do hope that you will give us the oppurtunity to better your experience.

Decided to stay at Mineral Springs for a two day ski trip to Mountain Creek ski area with my 11 yr. old daughter and 18 yr. old son. My kids LOVED Mountain Springs and so did I. The warm outdoor pool, indoor pool with a fun "cave" underneath the waterfall, hot tubs, sauna and steam room were all fantastic after a day of skiing. Had dinner at Kites restaurant and a nice breakfast in the morning before skiing. Food was excellent. Dinner was pricey, but worth it. The breakfast was fabulous and quite reasonable. We normally prefer ski-in ski-out accommodations if possible. We would have walked the mile in our ski boots to stay at Mineral Springs. It was that good! But take the free shuttle, it's easier. I can't wait to come back again with my wife (who had to work while we had fun)
