We have attempted to contact management upon leaving and from home after our stay to complain about our terrible experience at this place and have had no success in talking to anyone! Perhaps management could reply as to how I can reach a person! We completed online survey but never heard back! All we seem to get are daily emails about upcoming specials and events! They can't even honor our simple request to be removed from their email list! Basically, we do not have a single positive thing to say about this hotel! Pool area- crowded and dirty! Service- despicable! Restaurant- food served cold on dirty plates and service was slow and unfriendly! Rooms-not impressive! Activities were lame.. egg throwing contest, kids covered in raw eggs, great idea! and hot dog eating contest for children, another safe "kid friendly" idea! Music blaring from outside bar all night! The other resort had mini golf which Minerals guests not able to use, yet Minerals is supposedly the "more kid friendly" one?? We asked to switch to the other resort after first night, but there were no rooms.Reservation operators were rude and not helpful from time of booking...wish we had never booked! Will never return or recommend!

Dear Guest,

We're sorry to hear Minerals failed to meet your expectations. On behalf of the entire staff at Minerals, please let me apologize, as it is our goal to see that every guest has a fulfilling stay.

To ensure the satisfaction of our guests during their stay, our concierge places calls two times during the stay of each of our guests inquiring if all is well and if there was anything we could do to enhance their experience. Additionally, at any time during your stay you could have gone to the front desk and asked to speak with a manager.

It's always enlightening for management to realize that the activities, quality of the rooms or customer service that many guest love and often return for are viewed differently by other guests. For example, many families call in advance to find out if we are doing the backyard picnic games. Parents love to do the silly egg toss and three-legged race with their kids. It reminds them of a time before most activities revolved around electronics. Recognizing that egg tossing will only go so far (so to speak), Minerals does have quite a number of other activities, including 7 indoor and outdoor tropical pools (with an underground river, cliff jump, cave and sunken aquarium), indoor tennis courts, a full gymnasium, special entertainment just for kids, a game room, hiking/canoeing, horseback riding, and an evening "Kid's Kraze Camp." Additionally, Minerals has a specially designed 9-hole family golf course.

We recognize guest have different tastes especially when it comes to music, so we rotate our weekend entertainment with different singers, bands, DJs, stand-up comedy and karaoke. All outside entertainment concludes by 10:00 PM.

All emails sent by Minerals have an "opt out" option at the bottom of the email. We apologize if you received an email after requesting to be removed from our email database. It's possible the email was in que prior to your opting out.

Again, we are sorry you didn't enjoy your stay.

Sincerely,

Kim Uczkowski

I stayed at Mineral Springs for a work trip during a torrential downpour (I'm talking road closures). There were roof leaks throughout the hotel, no doubt damage from hurricane Irene and the most recent torrential downpours. People were actively mopping up the water from the leaks and buckets were placed to collect the water.

It was a 2 day trip but due to the weather we did not partake in most of the amenities. However, due to our team building scavenger hunt, I did see many of the options: indoor and outdoor pool, spa, tennis courts, miniature golf, spin bikes, weight lifting, ping pong, sauna, gift shop and basketball courts.

I did not like the layout of this hotel. In order to get from the lobby to the hotel rooms, one needs to walk through the indoor pool area. Which means slip hazards for women wearing heels and frizzy hair. We found a shortcut to the business meeting area from the rooms, but we figured this out on our own, it was not mentioned.

The room was comfortable and clean, albeit dated. This hotel is not set up for business, no desk at all in the room. I made due using the small table by removing the coffee maker. However, we picked this resort to have a fun off-site meeting, not because of the meeting facilities.

All meals were provided by the hotel. We had one breakfast set up and dinner set up in Kites while eating breakfast and lunch on another day in the meeting room. My salmon at dinner was okay (marinated beets and chive risotto). Most people in my group had the filet mignon and seemed to enjoy it. One person had the scallops and mention they were good.

We spent some time at the bar, which was enjoyable and seemingly well stocked with what most people requested.

All in all, if given more time, I would go back to this resort for a personal visit.

Unless you are looking for a family packed place, avoid this place. I went with a friend who was trying to get away for a bit without her family. Everywhere we turned there were kids.
They seemed to offer the pool to the residents of the town, so it did not feel exclusive or private. The rules of of the resort (and the pool) are they are mainly a non-smoking facility. There were many places where I encountered smoking -- mainly people trying to hide it at the pool. In general there was no enforcement of any of their own rules.
We went to the restaurant at the resort, there was nothing to good about anything they had to offer. The service was slow. The menu was quite small and the food just so-so. Not worth the cost at all.
The hotel itself needed much improvement starting with the lobby. Its nice to offer activities, however when they are not posted anywhere, what's the point? I looked at their message board when i walked in and it was only to announce where weddings were (what rooms, etc.) . If you look at the website, you would think there are organized things to do -- i was looking forward to going on a hike. I never saw any mention of their hikes or any activities.
I did go to their gym for a short run. It is a large area, however not at all monitored by anyone. I saw kids walking around in their bathing suits near the weight machines -- not only is this dangerous, but why would anyone not be in work out clothing (and sneakers!) when at a gym?
Overall, this place was a huge disappointment -- it was nice to be away, but i would never go to this place again.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that Minerals Resort & Spa did not meet your expectations. We've shared your feedback with our staff, as we want all of our guests to enjoy their stays at our properties.

Minerals Resort & Spa is marketed as a family-friendly vacation destination. The majority of our guests rave about the number of resort amenities and activities dedicated to families traveling with children. We apologize if this message was not conveyed to you prior to your reservation being booked.

We have security patrolling the property 24/7 to enforce the resort rules. The security staff and management team are happy to address the concerns that are brought to their attention.

Resort-wide activities are included in every check-in packet, and are also displayed at the front desk and activities desks in the lobby and gym. Guests can also call or stop by the Concierge.

If you're looking for a more luxurious escape, we encourage you to check out our sister property, Grand Cascades Lodge, in Hamburg, NJ.

Again, thank you for your review.

Sincerely,

The Management Team at Crystal Springs Resort

We were here for a family wedding. Way overpriced for what you get. In general, it was dated, dirty and worn out. How many places do you go to now that actually charge to make a local call? How many places don't have internet access in the rooms. How many still have standard TVs instead of flat screens? Well, this place has all of those. The first morning, i went to the front desk and asked for a Wall Street Journal newspaper: nope. And not just the WSJ, NO newspapers. Went next door to the hotel gift shop: they don't carry any newspapers. I ended up going to another 3-4 places and had to drive about 10 miles before I finally found one. A clue to the type of area you are in when staying here: I passed 3 Dunkin' Donuts before I passed a Starbucks. Mind you, you are only a little over an hour outside of NYC, and you can't get a Wall Street Journal (or NY Times)? This is a family place, so lots of kids running around and lots of noise. The wall are thin and you here things going on in the hallway, in the room above you, wherever. You don't come here for a nice quiet get-away and restful sleep.

Service was not good. We had all of 5 hangers in our closet, and had to ask for more hangers twice. They brought some after a half hour the first time, and we never got any after the second request. When we checked in, there was a green cream (toothpaste?) smeared on both bathroom faucets...yuk! Room service was slow, and the only thing they replaced were the towels. They never replaced the shampoo either day. When we used the ice bucket with the plastic bag, they dumped the plastic bag, but didn't replace it.

We just hosted our daughters wedding at Minerals Resort and Spa and the entire staff of the resort was wonderful. There was not one employee that you passed who did not say hello and ask if they could help. There is so much to do, we can't wait to go back and spend another weekend and enjoy the facilities. Everyone was prompt and efficient, friendly, from the bell boys to the security guards. The spa is georgeous and all of the staff was friendly and accomodating. The grounds are meticulously manicured and absolutely georgeous. I would recommend this resort for anyone who wants a fabulous vacation. if you are hosting a wedding, this is the place to go see.
