Cozy (ok, small), well-edited (again, small) menu, delicious food - just don't forget to BYOB. A real neighborhood gem - will definitely return.

An initimate dining experience. A very small outside seating area and a wonderful $ 25.00 three course meal are the only words needed to supplement the excellent reviews of this restautrant provided by others. This restaurant is a winner!!! Get a reservation and enjoy it.

We reviewed this small restaurant last year soon after it opened, and we continued going there all summer, often with friends. We are just back at the shore, and so had dinner there the other night. If anything, Salt Ayre is even better than last year. There are several new items on the menu, showing the chef's creativity and refusal to be satisfied with the status quo. We loved the chicken liver pate bruschetta and the unusual anchovy appetizer. The bouillabaisse (actually, more of a cioppino, but who's quibbling?) was absolutely exquisite. A roasted beet salad was fantastic. On certain nights and certain times, there is a $25 three-course special, which is a true bargain. Couples can order the appetizer and entree and split the salad and dessert. It's a real treat.

We are always warmly welcomed by Vince LoBianco when we arrive at our favorite cozy bistro. The LoBianco family does an excellent job of creating a comfortable and elegant dining experience. The food is delicious and prepared with the best of ingredients. This is a BYOB and a cash only restaurant.

Have been to Salt Ayre twice this summer.....both times had wonderful meals with great service...love the fact that it is small and intimate.....it can get loud at times, but hey that just shows everyone is having a good time.....it's cash only and byo.....love bringing our favorite wine
We have ordered a few of the appetizers......the Shrimp Po Boy Sliders are one of our favorites....crispy cornmeal encrusted shrimp with lettuce, tomatoes and a delicious surachi mayo on toasted slider rolls......the Mediterranean Plate served with three thick slices of grilled rosemary bread, hummus, baba ghanouj and grilled veggies....great flavors, nice portion, light appy if you are not too hungry.......the Bistro Salad....fresh greens, dried cranberies, bleu cheese with balsami dressing was the perfect salad.....the Roasted Beets and Goat Cheese..... three or four round cut slices of beet with goat cheese, a few baby spinach leaves, toasted almonds and herb dressing....the flavors were good but, the presentation and amount of beets was not up to par with the other appetizers
The entrees were all over the top.... lots of flavor and perfectly cooked....the Lemon Sole was outstanding.....it has artichoke hearts, tomatoes and capers, it was a good size, the sole was moist and tasty, seasoned just right....this was my favorite dish.
The special of the day....Fruits of the Sea....a steaming hot pot of seafood...shrimp, clams, mussels and calamari in red sauce served over spaghetti was mouthwatering delicious....consistent both times we ordered it....had a fair amount of shellfish
Oysters on the half shell is also one of the daily specials and seemed to be very popular....saw several orders go by....didn't try this dish
The service was attentive,....our wine was opened when we were seated and our orders were taken shortly after.....the young man explained the specials, answered all our questions, he was professional and friendly....our water glasses were always filled and our bread basket replenished when low......all our dishes came out in a timely manner....our table was checked on several times during our meal to see if anything was needed...empty plates were cleared quickly
Had a wonderful dinner on both visits with consistently delicious food and great service.....will be back!
