My wife & I stayed at the Carisbrooke Inn for the Jewish holiday of Shavuot (Pentecost). As observant Jews, we had special requirements. The staff was extremely accommodating, & we had an excellent holiday. The Inn is a 7 minute walk from an Orthodox Shul, Rodef Shalom (the Shul was also great!). We highly recommend Carisbrooke & we hope to stay there again!

My boyfriend and I chose to stay here after reading all the reviews, and we could not have been more pleased with our choice. We were welcomed by Agnes immediately within stepping inside, as the smell of baking cookies wafted through the inn. She was so helpful with suggestions on where to eat, and luckily the property is within close proximity to both Wawa and Sack O Subs (YUM!) Our room was beautiful and the bed more comfortable than ours at home! Breakfast the next morning was delicious, I have been trying to replicate Agnes' blueberry pancakes to no avail. We really felt like we were special guests in someone's home as opposed to staying in a corporate hotel, making our weekend getaway so much better than we could have asked for. We can't wait to go back again this summer and have recommended Carisbrooke Inn to all our friends.

My wife and I have always wanted to stay at a B&B and were very reluctant to just because we didn't know what to expect. Do they provide soap / toiletries? Will there be a t.v. and heat / ac in our room? Can we come in as late as we want? Will they have cable t.v.? Just silly questions. After reading all good things on this site as well as other sites, we booked room 6 for the weekend. We traveled northeast from Baltimore to get to the Carisbrooke Inn, and were very pleased with the location of it (very close to the beach) and how you could just pull right up front and check in. After check in, they had free parking 1/2 a block over in their own designated lot. As soon as we walked into the Carisbrooke, we felt welcome and the atmospehere was so very relaxing. John and Chris were extremely helpful and accommodating, and the dogs (there was Sid and Willy) made it feel very homey and down-to-earth. We do not have dogs (almost all of our friends do so we know how dogs behave in general and sometimes smell); but I must say, we would not have even noticed there was a dog (or two for that matter) present in the house. There was no dog hair or smell anywhere. Sid and his buddy were the friendliest, well behaved dogs I've ever encountered. No barking whatsoever. No crotch smelling (not to be crass). The whole house was extremely clean and beautiful inside. The room we stayed in (room 6) had a view of the ocean so you could get a good idea of what the weather and beach were like each day before heading out. Also, it was so nice to have the windows open (there were two windows in our room) and hear the ocean waves crash into the shore. Having two windows allowed for fantastic cross-ventilation to get that gorgeous beach air all throughout the room. The bed was extremely comfortable, they had Directv in the room, and they even had a remote control with a digital temperature gauge right on it that you could use to regulate the heat/coolness in the room!! (I'm a tech geek so I just loved that). There was a ceiling fan above the bed which really helped circulate air around the room and made sleeping that much more comfortable. They had toiletries that were better than what you would get in your big chain hotels! They key they gave us allowed access to the main doors and our bedroom so we could come and go as we please (regardless of the time). They have a refrigerator and microwave on the second floor (which just so happened to be right outside our room). This was a huge plus for us because we usually book rooms at places that have a fridge / microwave and if they dont have one in the room, we request that one be brought to us (we always have leftovers when we leave a restaurant and need to reheat our coffees, not to sound high maintenance). Breakfast IS NOT to be missed. Fresh fruit and bread were cut up each morning when we walked downstairs, and you could smell the food cooking in the back. The juices were fresh and the coffee was piping hot. "Refreshments" at 5pm were the perfect way to hang out and meet / talk to other people in the house before heading out for the night. We were so very pleased with the service we received, the fantastic little things that made you feel at home that you wouldn't even expect (i.e., cookies sitting near the breakfast signup sheet, board games around the common room, 24/7 coffee and tea), and how all of our needs were met. We are very picky guests when staying somewhere and the Carisbrooke Inn delivered on all counts. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed at the Carisbrooke Inn February 19th and 20th and as usual had a wonderful time. Our room was beautiful, clean and we had one of the spa bathrooms which is just the most relaxing. The are the most heavenly beds and always lead to a very restful night. We had a delicious gourmet breakfast on both days - cooked on the premises from scratch and not out of a box everything is simply delicious. Happy Hour at 5 is just another addition of treats and don't forget those wonderful cookies. John and Agnes are fantastic hosts and only add to the charm of the inn. There is a refrigerator on the second floor and each room is appointed with flat screen tvs and computer access is available. We have been to the inn during the summer months and beach passes and chairs are always provided. It is a home away from home that just happens to be a little over a mile from the casinos. We usually walk along the boardwalk.
