We utilize healthy cooking methods like grilling, steaming and plain sautéing our meals, with fresh garlic and ginger and our own home-made sauces. Even our soy sauce is top notch!

We enjoy both take out and eating in at this restaurant. The food is always fresh and delicious. The service is very quick for delivery and also great when we dine in. I recommend the scallion pancakes and sesame chicken. You won't be disappointed.

First off, I have to admit that I don't consider Chinese cuisine to be absolutely delicious...but I do understand that is just my personal opinion. I basically always order Chicken with Broccoli in Garlic Sauce, and on occasion get Sesame Chicken. My friend had recommended T.S. Ma to me and regarded it as his favorite Chinese restaurant. Like many of the reviewers here he deemed their Chinese food as the freshest that he had ever had...and called it real, authentic, healthy Chinese cuisine. This past winter my husband and I finally gave it a try. Upon entering I found T.S. Ma to be a nice, small, cozy Asian restaurant to dine in. Per their beverage menu they offer complimentary jasmine tea, but I realized that you have to ask for it. Since I do not believe that I like jasmine I opted not to request it, especially since no one else would be joining in with me and I didn't want it to go to waste. We ordered pork fried dumplings as an appetizer and thought that they were fine, but "nothing to write home about." We split two entrees, Chicken with Broccoli in Garlic Sauce, and Sesame Chicken, and we both preferred the Sesame Chicken. I like how they sprinkled a MOTHERLOAD of sesame seeds on top, which was unique. The chicken meat in this dish did seem a bit different, perhaps a bit more real, and was surprisingly meaty. The Chicken with Broccoli in Garlic Sauce was thoroughly disappointing as the sauce was virtually tasteless. There were a few pieces of garlic bulb in the dish which I enjoyed but the sauce itself neither tasted garlicky nor anything remotely like what it normally does. I should note that the chicken in this dish was not "meaty" like in the other and it appeared to look like that at any Chinese joint. I would not care to order this again and would just stick with the Sesame Chicken, and try another dish. I do realize that many places, such as this one, don't provide you with nearly enough sauce for some reason, but the hub and I like when a restaurant gives you a good amount of it to "lube" up your rice with. One thing that did surprise us is that they charge $2.50 for a CAN of soda, which is pretty steep! All in all I don't see us returning here very often for a few reasons: One being that when we eat Chinese we typically just do takeout, and the other reason being that when we dine in Montclair we like to frequent places "in the hub." Although I didn't consider T.S. Ma's anything to rave about like many others did, I was happy to try a new place and would be very likely to keep it in mind if we were going to see a film at the nearby Bellevue Cinema.
