“A winner for 50 years”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

I was brought up in Hamilton and still have family there. Chick and Nello"s was the go to place for family celebrations and special events, even before St Antony's High School was there (now call McCarstin). The menu which is not printed but all of the old favorites always there. It has never failed to please. I was recently there for my uncle's 90th birthday and there was no question that C&N was the place for a birthday party of 30 people and it way my uncles first/only choice (and he still drives!). Everyone attending was more than pleased. Treat yourself and go there.

“My FAVE in this area”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

We celebrate special occasions here. yes, a bit pricey but it is so good and served in such a special atmosphere that we find it to be worth it. on my husband's birthday, we shared a special (thick) porterhouse steak which was scrumptious. a favorite dish of mine is the roast chicken. all pasta dishes are good as are their salads, and veggies, prepared to order. they are willing to work with you on preparation of your choice! one of the few places left in Trenton area where the wait staff is intelligent, clean and attentive! don't be intimidated by the lack of a menu. it's such a treat to dine there - if you want cheap, larger portions, fake-italian sauces and bread served by kids on cell phones with staples in their lips, you can always go to Olive Garden, or Macaroni Grill.

“Simply the best around!!!”
Reviewed January 19, 2012

The food at Chick's is great every time I have been there. From the Porterhouse, to the breast of veal, and of course the Triple Crown..Dave and his staff create quality dishes in a great old school atmosphere. The Primo sauce is unreal as well. Don't be fooled by the reviews that say the prices afre fluffed from no written menu. Anyone who's been, knows it ain't cheap but it's worth it.

“Simply the Best”
Reviewed January 12, 2012

I love this restaurant. I have been eating there for 30 years, and I still look forward to every visit. I have taken clients and out-of-town visitors to Chick's on many occasions, and they are always blown away by the delicious food and it's unique atmosphere. The roast chicken (always available), in my opinion, is the signature dish, although others might disagree. My family loves the roast pork (Thursdays) and breast of veal (Wednesday) enjoys cult status in this area. A typical 3-course meal includes a salad of lettuce or cold vegetables in vinaigrette, with your choice of additions: 3 different cheeses, tomato, onion, anchovy; a pasta course (pencil points or linguini) with choice of 5 or 6 sauces; and an entree. This is no lasagna/manicotti place. Wood-fired grilled meats and a number of menu staples. Forget the nonsense you hear about fluctuating prices. With the closing of Lorenzo's, any doubts about Trenton's best restaurant were erased. Don't miss it.

“Slipped badly”
Reviewed November 12, 2011

I've been going there on a regular basis for over 40 years and have always been satisfied...till now. Same staff, same chef, same menu, but the food, on our last vist last week, was way below par. The pasta sauce was watery, the juice in their standard roast chicken dish was thick and salty and portions size seems to have been reduced. Bye Bye, Chix.
