My son took me to this establishment for an early birthday celebration on July 19, 2019 for a Victorian Tea lunch. It was indeed a very nice afternoon.
It was a 5 course lunch and everything we had was delicious.
It started with a watermelon salad, followed by chicken rice soup, blueberry scones,
4 types of finger sandwiches, and about 5 different kinds of mini desserts. The waitress was very nice and pleasant and she had all the answers to my questions regarding the large selection of teas. After lunch I was also able to join the table of 6 ladies next to us for a guided tour of the rooms upstairs at this bed and breakfast. This place was very nicely decorated and it has lots of Toms River history. I would like to say that this is well worth the time and money for a special occasion or just for something different to do. The price I believe is $37.00 per person and that includes the gratuity. The people here are very friendly and they go out of their way and bend over backwards to make your visit special. They also offer a nice little room where you can buy tea, tea pots, and pretty fancy tea cups, etc. for yourself or to give as a gift. You can also purchase scones, and samples of clouted cream, and lemon curd to accompany your treats to take home. Oh, and they also offer a nice assortment of ladies hats to wear while you are having your lunch. It was great to hear all the giggles coming from the ladies as they tried on their hats. I highly recommend a visit to this Victorian Tea Room.
