“Good Price and fairly nice hotel, but not without flaws...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2011

I stayed in this hotel in June and again this August. In June I got a 2 queen bed room on the first floor and enjoyed it. The rooms are fairly clean and spacious. Every room has a seperate bedroom and living room with a bathroom in between. I really like this lay out and enjoy having 2 tv's in the rooms, and you don't have to lay in bed to watch tv, but instead can sit on couch!

In August I paid 119.00 and got a room with a Whirlpool tub, which works well but could have stronger jets. There were no instructions for the hot tub and we took about ten minutes trying to figure out how to keep the drain plugged. We did have an issue with the fridge though, in an attempt to save money, they shut off the refrigerators in the rooms when not in use. So when we got there it was warm and not untill the next morning was it fully cooled down, leaving us without cold refreshments all night long. They should leave them on so they are actually cold!!
We also had a small quibble with the tv and cable but it was fixed by Akash, from the front desk.
The breakfast is mediocre at best. It was actually very crowded and every table was full. The TV was not on which was dissapointing and the eggs were gross, just like they were in June. The sausage is okay, and the waffles are good too. There were other items as well along with juices and nearly empty coffee canisters.

Overall I would stay here again and would recommend it, but there are a few cons. They also rarely lock the doors so anyone can come inside and walk by the rooms. I do LOVE the open Atrium area between the opposing rooms, as you can smoke there and enjoy the cricket sounds on the benches, haven't seen this before at a hotel and really enjoyed it.
For the price its reasonable and right next to the monmouth mall! Also only 30 mins from Six Flags which is where we were coming from!
The pool is decent, a bit small but it is what it is. It is not HEATED or didn't feel like it anyway, and the Hot tub was broken on our Aug visit, it did work in June.
Hopefully they continue to work on the hotel and improve it, as its pretty decent. They could also use a new ice machine on the third floor, because it barely works!

Room Tip: Anyroom is decent, and hot tub room is affordable and enjoyable, but you don't get a desk!

This is a great hotel for families and was a great value! They have a nice pool/hot tub - both indoors which was great considering it was 100+ degrees this week we were there! Breakfast is good - make your own waffles was a HIT with my son!

Room Tip: We were in room 304 - very quiet and out-of-the way!

Readily accessible from the Garden State Parkway (Exit 105) and Route 18, the Comfort Inn is easy to find as well as parking for your vehicle right outside the hotel. Several parking spaces for the handicapped are closest to the entrance, not just one or two.

The room satisfied my needs and my wallet considering the season and the cost of B & B's in nearby Ocean Grove. My suite was shaped in a capital E. The "bottom line" would be the entrance to the living room that had a TV and coffee maker for regular and decaf drinkers. There was also a spacious couch, coffee table, and writing table. The "middle line" was a spacious bathroom with the usual amenities--hair blower, kleenex, shampoo, conditioner, soap, moisturizing creme, toilet tissue (of course), and plenty of towels and washclothes. The shower provided hot water and a moderate amount of pressure (thank God)! The bedroom completed the "top of the E. It too had a TV and dresser for clothes. (The hallway closet was jut before the bathroom). The bed was comfortable even though the numerous pillows were a little too soft for my taste.

I found the arrangement novel and comfortable giving me sunlight from both ends of the suit with each end providing a separate air conditioning unit. It was clean and spacious. It all worked. Given to forget something on every trip, complimentary toothpaste was provided on request.

A complimentary breakfast was also provided. It included coffee, tea, juices, milk, cereal, waffles, fluffy scrambled eggs, a limited variety of bagels, toast, and the usual compliments of butter, jams and jellies. Unfortunately, it didn't satisfy my meal requirement for some kind of dead animal in the form of sausage, ham or bacon, even though it saved my bacon considering the lack of available accommodations in nearby Ocean Grove.

Oh yes! It also had a decent gym and indoor pool that was more for relaxation against the humid summer sun of the New Jersey shore rather than laps. The staff were also pleasant and helpful.

It's five stars in its class but, of course, it's not the Waldorf Astoria or Ritz Carlton.

So, if you're on a budget and in the habit for forgetting to pack something, this is the place.

We had a great time. The kids loved the indoor pool. It was inexpensive. The rooms were clean and comfortable. And the staff was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good place to stay close to the Jersey Shore.

This is a tough hotel to review. The exterior is sorely lacking in landscaping, which immediately put my guard up. The interior lobby is nice, but our room was off an exterior garden. I didn't mind that - in fact, it was really nice to not be in a stuffy hotel hallway. The whole inside is walled in with an open roof, and you need a key to get in the door, so there really is potential for a tropical getaway. But the garden was also lacking any landscaping and was pretty run down. The exterior steps were starting to rot and needed a paint job. We were pleasantly surprised that the rooms were so nice. Recently updated and clean. Very comfortable beds, not so good pillows. Windows opened so you could get some fresh air. Loved the separate living rooms and bedrooms, and the nice sized refrigerator and microwave. The TV's were not flat-screen and the HD shows did not fit the smaller screens, that was pretty comical. We got a good night sleep, nice and quiet.
...
Things took a turn for the worse the next morning when we went for breakfast. The food was gross and the tables and counters dirty. The coffee was so weak it was as if they were trying to save money by brewing it with extra water. Eggs were cold and sausage was burnt. Didn't have enough bagels. One person had left a half-cut bagel on the counter and the food server put it back with the other bagels.
...
The indoor pool is stained and looks dirty, the water was severely over-chlorinated. Once we were in the pool and eye-level with the surrounding walkway we noticed how dirty the flooring was. There was mold on the windows and piles of hair and garbage in the corners. Really gross. Off the pool was a patio area with a grill. The grill had some disgusting stuff all over it that was either old food or vermin droppings. I'm tempted to put a call in to the health department.
...
Coming back after a day out one of our family members noticed that housekeeping had not cleaned their room. They called the front desk and were told that if they wanted the room cleaned it would cost extra!!! This after housekeeping had cleaned other rooms.
...
So, in a nutshell, if all you want is a place to sleep, this place is great. If you are looking to hang out with family, as we were, there were several other hotels in walking distance that I would suggest checking out.

Room Tip: We were third floor, garden area.

Four guys on a fishing trip. Just needed a place for the night. Clean and comfortable. Great price for the area. Would definitely stay there again.

I don't expect much from a Comfort Inn. Just a standard room, no frills, but clean. This location was the exception. The room was not filthly, but it was not particularly clean. It had two huge problems though. It had stink bugs in it. Also, the bathroom was disgusting. The front desk was no help. When we told them about the bugs they stared blankly and said there wasn't anything they could do.

The hotel pool was also dirty looking.
