“2nd review and it's still bad”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2013

A 7PM reservation found them setting up for the breakfast buffet. We passed the containers of cereal only to find packages of jelly on our table. As a party of seven, we were offered a table for 6 to squeeze into near the kitchen and had to ask for another table (more jelly). The menu looked much improved since my last visit but the food was not. The cream of mushroom soup initially tasted good but heavy on the sherry and salt so it was hard to finish. The fish entrees among the group on were not very fresh and heavily salted. One person ordered the meatloaf and did not even bother trying it eat it calling it a "bread loaf." The bread basket is comprised of uninspired super market variety dinner rolls. Service was pleasant but not impressive.....this is a hotel restaurant so maybe it's just for non-repeat clientele.

“Horrible Sunday Brunch - The Worst”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2013

We have had lunch here during the week and expected an adequate, if not memorable Sunday brunch. Were we wrong!

Except for an omelet station watched over by a man who neither could cook nor speak English (and worked at a snail's pace), it is self-service with a meager assortment of chafing dishes. Salmon poached beyond recognition, chicken breasts as dry as the Sahara, and a mystery meat that might have been striving for beef stroganoff swimming in an oily brown pool of sludge. The pasta dish managed to be dry, gummy and tasteless. The salads a hodgepodge of disjointed ingredients such a beets and cauliflower put out in bowls for anyone to sneeze on. No thanks.

Make-your-own toast from grocery store breads with butter and cream cheese in little plastic tubs.

This was seriously shameful and cost us $25 per person. Do not confuse reviews for lunch and dinner with the brunch and do not under any circumstance go on Sunday between 10am and 2pm since that's all they serve.

“Ok if you have LOTS of time”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2013

Decent food but frustratingly understaffed. Slow service detracted from what could have been a very nice meal. Entrees were not as described on the menu and there were "universal" side dishes for all.My steak was overcooked and not to order (medium rare). It was redone but I had to wait quite a while even though the restaurant was not busy. We had to forego dessert due to time constraints. Convenient location so sorry it wasn't better.

“Very well prepared food but limited dinner selection”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2013

We decided to try Palmer's after seeing a coupon for a free bottle of wine with 2 entrees in the Bergen Pac playbill. Palmer's is in the Clinton Inn and feels like a hotel restaurant. On the positive side, we ordered filet mignon and scallops, which was perfectly prepared and seasoned with vegetables and a wonderful risotto. Service was excellent and we weren't rushed and had a leisurely meal (of course there wasn't a demand for tables either). The bottle of wine was given as promised. On the less positive side, I thought there was a very limited selection of entrees and it was a little pricey. There was one chicken dish, one pork dish, salmon, meat loaf, and one pasta dish, 2 other steak dishes, all in the $23-$27 dollar range. I may have missed one or two entrees, but not much more. They also had a tapas menu. We enjoyed our dinner and with the wine, it was worth the visit. Otherwise, I'm not sure I would return for dinner without a coupon of some sort.
