“Very well prepared food but limited dinner selection”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

We decided to try Palmer's after seeing a coupon for a free bottle of wine with 2 entrees in the Bergen Pac playbill. Palmer's is in the Clinton Inn and feels like a hotel restaurant. On the positive side, we ordered filet mignon and scallops, which was perfectly prepared and seasoned with vegetables and a wonderful risotto. Service was excellent and we weren't rushed and had a leisurely meal (of course there wasn't a demand for tables either). The bottle of wine was given as promised. On the less positive side, I thought there was a very limited selection of entrees and it was a little pricey. There was one chicken dish, one pork dish, salmon, meat loaf, and one pasta dish, 2 other steak dishes, all in the $23-$27 dollar range. I may have missed one or two entrees, but not much more. They also had a tapas menu. We enjoyed our dinner and with the wine, it was worth the visit. Otherwise, I'm not sure I would return for dinner without a coupon of some sort.

“Keep Crossing to another restaurant”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Maybe it was the flurry to set up the Mother's Day buffet but this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in quite a while. The food was below average.....presentation was diner quality, taste was not worth the price. The restaurant was not busy but the service was very slow. We had to find the server to get the check and she was on her phone and turned away to finish her conversation. The manager was indifferent to diners....walking through the restaurant without bothering to check on customers. Wow this was bad!

“Great happy hour”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

I was there with friends for happy hour. I couldn't believe when we sat down at the bar. I was inform by the manager that happy hour is Monday to Friday from 4 to 7, everything half price. Love it! I'll make this my regular hang out spot.

“reliable”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

We came here for a family gathering--we had a private room for 40 persons--we had pre-chose a menu of broccoli potato soup, grilled salmon, steak salad, ravioli--the dessert was a choice of apple pie, cupcakes and cookies--the red and white wine were from the house and californian --the staff was dedicated to our group, the meals were all equally satisfying--this restaurant is located in the Clinton Inn--since there is a hospital and funeral home nearby this is the likely choice for gatherings
