Thought it was illegal to solicite for a bigger tip...how rude. Was a good show up til then. Went to see School of Rock show. Kids were great, gave it their best and did a great job. Lots of talent

“Not good - only would go back in order to hear specific music, otherwise - NO THANKS”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

Don't go here for good food or service. Go here for music, if you are following a certain group and want to hear them. The place is spacious and you can see the stage from wherever you sit or stand in the place. The bathrooms are clean. That's the good news.

The bad news: this place is SORELY understaffed. we waited endlessly to place a drink order, and then ages for the drinks to come, then ages to order food, then forever for the food to come. I had to ask three times for additional place settings, as our group of 8 was only given a few sets of silverware (and also 2-3 menus for all of us to share). The chips were very stale. The salsa tasted almost like ketchup!!!!!!!! The guacamole portion was tiny, and it tasted average AT BEST (I'm being generous). The chopped salad was okay - salad dressing had good flavor, that was the best part. Others in our crowd had a variety of Mexican foods - tacos, burritos, etc - nobody was bowled over.

All in all, I definitely do not recommend!!!

“Great Food”
Reviewed June 30, 2012

I'm not much of a Mexican food eater, but menu gave options for mild or spicy. Everyone in our party of 4 raved about their delicious dinners.

“If you like the Blues (as in Chicago blues), this is not the place”
Reviewed April 14, 2012

The name "Mexicali Blues" allows for blue grass, but, it is stil hard for me to believe that in Northern New Jersey that 50 -100 people might be able to stomach this music. I forget that New Jersey, politically speaking, is a "swing state". The food here is good. If you are looking for "the blues", this is not the venue. Having come to this place more than 5 times, the place is pretty predictible. It is country western and blue grass. It is not "the blues".

“Good food, Great drinks, Excellent music”
Reviewed February 19, 2012

Went here to see a Grateful Dead cover band (The Electricians). Staff was very accommodating accepting my reservation for a table for 10. Menu is tex-mex with some good veg options. Generous portions. Extensive beer list. Waitstaff was also very efficient, checking back with the table but without interrupting our musical enjoyment. Good sound system too, and good space for dancing. A good evening had by all.
