“Great mini-golf course”
Review of SandBar Golf

Very well maintained greens. Nicely landscaped. Great family activity for a hot summer night. Pizzeria right next door if you're looking for a cheap night out with the family, after a day on the beach.

Sand Bar Golf is the most challenging course. No silly holes here! The best greens on LBI period! Not some cheap felt material or turf from the 1970's. All holes require you to read the green! Now if you still believe the world is flat, then by all means play at the other course in Surf City because it is flat, flat, flat.

I stay on 11th street and am was happy to hear this course was going up (used to be a lot with a closed ice cream place).Only played once, fine experience, but wanted to contribute some other thoughts assuming people reading this are interested in mini-golfing on LBI.

If you are looking to play mini-golf (which is immensely popular on the island and always something my family and I look forward to when we come on vacation), here are some suggestions/details:
1) Mr. Tee's 36 holes- my favorite course, and also very reasonable (about $7). Kid friendly, some challenging holes, and 36 of them! I have been coming here as long as I can remember and always enjoy it. Most of the holes stay the same year after year, which I like, with some modifications/improvements here and there. The arcade is currently closed due to Sandy but I believe they will reopen.
2) Island Golf-one of my favorites, a classic. Always a good time, fun layout, 2 ice cream places next to it.
3) Heart Land- don't play as frequently but good layout and fun. Can get pretty crowded.
4) Mr. Tee's Victoria Gardens-one of my favorites as well. Nice to play at night with the lights. Cool course design, some fun and challenging holes. No automatic hole in 1's here!
5) Flamingo-played for fun and in some of their golf tournaments as a kid. Always a fun course, usually crowded. Only downside is lots of "automatic hole in 1's" so can play quicker than you would like. Reasonable price. The cups are more kid friendly (edges are angled a bit so slightly bigger). For reference of difficulty, usually shoot about 35 at Island, but a 28 at Flamingo.
6) Fantasy Island-probably the most scenic and best courses, there are 2, but the most expensive as well. Usually don't want to shell out $10 to play an overly crowded course when there are other options. No option to win free games, unless they changed that recently.
7) Mr. Tee's Tiki Island-never played. Only played when it used to be Whacky World, but it looks pretty decent.
8) Sand Trap-least favorite, not worth it, greens are impossible (very frustrating considering you can miss 1 foot straight putts).

If you like mini-golf, or just looking to have some fun after a day at the beach, try some of these you won't be disappointed!

This course is the SAME HOLE 18 times. It's the smallest, least challenging, boring....you'll never come back. Flamingo Golf in Ship Bottom is the best followed by Island Golf also in Surf City. Take a look at those courses and you'll see exactly how bad this one is....

We found this golf course to be very boring. We had a group of kids from 8 - 18 and they were not impressed. There were no moving parts or interesting obstacles. The course simply relied on angles a few well placed rocks. It was just not fun.
