Geri & Mark loved the dining experience from the popovers to the signature warmed butter pound cake dessert and all in between--- succulent prime rib, herbed mushrooms and scrumptious asparagus and tender swordfish.
Kuddos manager Hugh and staff.

Roots Steakhouse gives the NYC steakhouses serious competition! It is set in a beautiful club setting. The food is out of this world! Top notch all the way! We usually get the crabcake as an appetizer and it is delicious! My husband always gets the filet mignon and says it is the best he has ever had! I love the prime rib. The prices are comparable to NYC steakhouses but it is definitely worth it! We tend to go for special occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays.
Give it a try! You won't be disappointed!

We frequently have dined at the Roots in Morristown, with friends who live nearby. We love it so much, we have gone there numerous times for special occasions on our own. Because we live in Summit, it seemed like a good idea to go there, assuming it would be of the same caliber.
What a disappointment, and one I cannot understand. It is crowded, oddly laid out, and though the food was disappointing, the worst experience all three times we tried again was the cold, disinterested, rude and snarky staff, from the so called greeters at the door who do not greet, to the waiters and water pourers. We are friendly, easy going people, and we expected the same level of professional, warm, top notch service we receive at Roots Morristown.
The food is also not up to snuff. Same menu, but the steaks were not cooked to our specification, the creamed spinach was cool, the popovers were gummy, and the potatoes lyonnaise were greasy. What the heck? Three times we tried again, and all three times we waited longer than 20 minutes despite a reservation, no sommelier, food plunked down without anyone checking back to see how things were. The last time, we were seated by the bar despite having requested a quiet back room table, with standing patrons poking their butts into our space while they waited for tables. An argument between the hostess and a manager broke out right in front of the customers. I told my husband that was it, never again. Close it might be, and we would like to support our own town, but for a flawless dining experience, we are going to Roots Morristown. We did, and it was like, aaaahhh! Now THAT is how you do it!!!!!

Roots does everything extremely well. It is a handsome, if somewhat masculine space, with a sincere, professional staff and near perfect steakhouse classics. All the finest ingredients in perfect condition arrive well-presented to the table. The signature popovers are fine, but the raw shellfish are spectacular, the colossal crabmeat cocktail truly COLOSSAL, and the steaks are always cooked as ordered. The sides are all terrific and the composed appetizers and mains are both varied and creative. Both lunch and dinner give a wide selection to any diner. Had a lunch scallop special with pomegranate and purée of celery root that was fantastic!

we were celebrating 3 birthdays among 6 family members. the service was perfect, the food was excellent. we were seated in our usual banquet without asking for it. my grandchildren, 12 and 13,
brought their appetites and were delighted. not being a steak eater, i had an exquisite lobster cobb salad.
this is a consistent restaurant.
