“Must Go”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

Unlike any place I've been to. They have a wonderful "Nature Staff" and a viewing room filled with reptiles, turtles, and other living creatures. Also tons of family events/walks, bird watching ect

“no octopus”
Reviewed August 29, 2012 via mobile

we have young children and were told specifically about the octopus feeding. unfortunately nigel died i think recently. they get octopus from local fishermen and the lifespan is only 2years. so no octopus in residence right now. anyway very friendly staff and a nice small aquarium. fun touch tank. feeding animals by nature guide tues and thurs 3:15. marsh walks and kayak tours look fun-maybe when my kids r 7-8. learned a lot!

“don't miss it”
Reviewed August 19, 2012

the wetlands institute is not to be missed if you're in sh for vacation. we have taken advantage of their nature tours, which talk about the rich life of the wetlands, and the indoor lectures. there are really wonderful evening events such as a kid's kayak tour of the marshes and back bay, and the skimmer, a boat which docks twice or three times a week for evening sunset tours, which allow both kids and adults to take a closer look at creatures pulled in on a bucket, and a chance to go crabbing using the old fashioned string and chicken necks. it's a great experience, and their calendar is full of fun, safe opportunities to enjoy the wealth that nature provides in the salt water marshes. go and enjoy!

“NOT JUST FOR KIDS”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO SPEND A COUPLE OF HOURS WITH KIDS and very interesting for adults as well. Live sea creatures that can be held and a naturalist answering all the kids questions. There is a walkway out into the wetlands and of course a gift shop. Don't miss this if you have children.

“A Must for Kids and Adults”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

Cape May County environmental stations are all excellent. Took my kids to all of them as often as possible. Now, as adults they are actively involved. One daughter has volunteered here now for some four years. There is no better way to undertstand the world around us than by what you experience at any of these nature centers.
