Description: Established in 1710, this is the inn that was immortalized by Richard Rodgers in the song "There's a small hotel with a wishing well" sung in the Broadway play On Your Toes. The inn was first built as a private residence and is believed to have been converted in 1832. Come and explore the over 300 year old Stockton Inn, nestled in the quaint borough of Stockton, New Jersey. Romantic dining is served in the exquisite mural rooms with fireside seating during the colder months. In the warmest months of the year, savor your meal and your surroundings while dining on the patio alongside two waterfalls and beautifully integrated gardens.

“A Hidden Gem”
Reviewed January 6, 2013 via mobile

I had the pleasure of eating at the Stockton Inn last night. My fiancé Nick, his mother, father & I got invited here to celebrate a friends birthday. The Inn was beautifully decorated with white twinkling lights on the outside & inside, very quaint, romantic & cozy. We started off with drinks & the bar had a large variety of alcohol to choose from, then the appetizers came out. I'm not a fan of mushrooms, but my fiancé said they were delicious! They looked & smelled good! The shrimp cocktail was to die for, nice big fat juicy shrimp with zesty cocktail sauce & the chicken on sticks with the peanut sauce was also amazing! Then it was salad which was an array of walnuts, cranberries, little oranges, spinach, & other assorted greens. Very tasty! For my main course I had the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection & melted in your mouth! The string beans & mashed potatoes very also very good! I would like to go back someday & have lunch there! All & all a very nice place to have a party or quiet little dinner for two!

“This place stinks”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Bad food, bad service, bad attitude and price.
This place needs to be managed by people who know how to run a restaurant, not a hobby

“Very happy with new ownership”

The Stockton Inn recently changed owners and everything has improved. We went there for dinner and the food was delicious. The service was great. The Stockton Inn is one of my favorite restaurants again. I can't wait to go back.

I have visited the Stockton Inn several times with friends and family, for birthdays or anniversaries. We have found the food to be of good quality, moderatley priced, whether choosing from the tavern menu or the dinner menu. Staff and service was attentive and very accomodating for special needs. The charm of the Inn is clean, well appointed and during the holiday season, the decorations are beautiful I would recommend it highly.

“Eh, so so”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

I stayed in the Federal Suite 1, which I thought was poor to middling. There was no phone- and yes, everyone has a cell phone these days- but if you have T-Mobile, pray you don't need to use it, because there is not service in Stockton. At all. The bed was comfortable- but the attention to detail is lacking here. No hair dryers, super loud heating system-so loud we had to turn it off to sleep- peeling paint, remote didn't work, loud fan in the bathroom, stains on the carpet, etc. I would not spend $200+ to stay here again.
