Love this restaurant - everything is great, but we LOVE the pizza the best! It is the best in NJ. Service is great, especially Maria!

We found this restaurant after a terrible experience across the way at the Stockton Inn. The visit to Via Ponte helped salvage what was an otherwise dissappointing evening. They were busy but very accomodating and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Have eaten there on 2 other occasions, its consistent.

The outside of this establishment is quite appealing and suggests that one would have a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, our experience (group of 6) was just the opposite. With reservations in hand for an 8:00 pm seating (Saturday night) we promplty arrived at the restaurant. We placed our orders for appetizers and dinners and waited approximately 70 minutes for the appetizers to arrive of which two were returned for poor quality. After waiting another 60 minutes, our dinners arrived and were also extremely disapointing (Shrimp and pasta dishes where only the tails of the shrimps are included is not acceptable - our waitress did not seem to understand why we were complaining...). We complained to our waitress and owner (about the poor food quality and look waiting time) and were told that due to their small kitchen, they often have trouble serving the customers in a timely manner and we should come back during the week when it was less crowded.. However, this excuse did not seem to prevent the kitchen from serving a party of 5 (friends of the owners) who sat down shortly after us. We cancelled our dessert orders and promtly left after we finished our meals. We spoke to the owner and our waitress one last time to see if they were willing to make things right by at least giving us a discount or offering us complementary desserts - no go on either front which was not terribly unexpected.

In Summary - overpriced meals , poor customer service, poor food quality, and lack of a cutomer focus. Save your money and go to Lambertville.

I am one of 4 friends who frequently try different restaurants in the New Hope, Lambertville, and Stockton areas. Via Ponte is my favorite by far. The food is consistently good, the staff pleasant and the place cozy. The owner Guissppe is a master. His ingredients are fresh, and recipes are light and flavorful. The pizza has a thin crust and is fabulous. I hesitate to name any one entree because they are all so delicious. So far, we seem to have tried everything on the menu. I read as a negative that he doesn't accommodate his sometimes overflowing guests well...no restaurants can handle too many people. He does offer music on Sunday nights...I think he would do better without the music as his restaurant is too small for that. I feel that it is well worth the visit to Via Ponte.
