Waterloo Village will make a full recovery someday. They do have events and the historical society is getting some funding to bring this unique village back to life. The Canal Museum is very special. The setting is incredibly beautiful and serene. Just take a walk with your kids in the stroller and they will see some history along the way.

We enjoyed Waterloo Village so much! We went for Christmas in July and there were vendors present. We saw beautiful buildings and went kayaking (for free). It was like being back in time.

I took my family there for some sightseeing and wow did we ever see some sights. Every building there with the exception of maybe one should be condemned. None of the structures in Waterloo are structurally sound, extremely dangerous, and in such disrepair. Nor were there any signs outside of the buildings to tell you what they were. And in a world where we are so conscientious about our environment, there was not one wastebasket in the entire village. I hope this is not the way the state of New Jersey treats all of their historical sites because if it is,they are not going to be around for much longer. Don’t waste your five dollars to park. Rent a movie from the Red Box and a half gallon of ice cream and call it a day.

we go to waterloo village all the time to walk our dog, and enjoy the outdoors.
if you go early in the day.....or towards evening, you'll rarely find anyone there. it is so relaxing...and a very easy walk.
put down your phone....go out in the country......and enjoy nature!!!!

Open mainly as a passive park (walk around). Hopefully funds will become available to have a full schedule, like in the late 1900s. Many buildings in terrible shape. One roof covered with a tarp. Inside plaster walls starting to fail. Would take just one internet millionaire to rehab.
