Inexpensive drinks and appetizers at the bar. Always a nice clientele, the views of the water and swans are the best. If you want a great dinner, the dining room offers great food and excellent service. Never disappointed.

We went to The Mill for a special occasion and didn't have to think twice about making a right choice. The place is located on the lake, we enjoyed the view and exotic ginormous swans that were swimming in it. The food presentation was excellent and everything we ordered was delicious.
We will definitely come back and highly recommend this place, especially for foodies.

My wife and I had recently visited on a Friday night as we were sitting on a restaurant.com coupon for about a year and thinking omg we gotta use this.. Plus we were looking for a meatless option and they have a large seafood selection on the menu so we said let's go for it.

It was a last minute thing so we were worried about getting seated but surprised that it was only about 50% full downstairs (Wedding Reception upstairs). But we chose to sit at the bar anyway so we could get a drink/food in our systems a soon as possible. The bartenders were great, personable and smiling...Good selection a bottle craft beer and specialty drinks. The house band (1 guy) was fine, mellow tunes after a long week is fine by me (although we went to the RiverRock to see The Amused afterwards (not mellow).

The meal starts with very good whole grain fresh/warm bread, honey butter (good), herb butter (good) and olive oil (needed seasoning)...off to a good start. Bread!

Everything tuna - pretty good...interesting can presentation, no sauce to dip
Snow Crab legs - nothing wrong with crab
Roasted Cauliflower salad - very good, but needed salt

Lobster Pot Pie - again pretty good, two huge claws were a great surprise and a great idea. But once you dig in there is a lot going on inside so you need to stay focused on chewing (some big pieces) as well as the amount of calories you are ingesting, as this is not a low-cal option.
Shrimp and Grits - this was just so so, shrimp are shrimp but the grits were bland, dry and unseasoned...but I have a strong feeling this was our fault since we ordered without the bacon. Unfortunately they also omitted the cheese... I know this dish is better with the bacon and the cheese...so can't fault them on that.

Overall a pleasant mellow night out

We went to the mill for dinner and it was valentines night. We haven't been to the mill in years and we were plesently impressed. Food was fantastic. I had the filet and it was very tasty. Atmosphere was romantic. We will definitely return.

We had been to this restaurant on a quiet weekend night, and had a wonderful, intimate dining experience. The service was excellent, atmosphere sophisticated, and the food was delicious. We did, however, spend this New Year's Eve there, and had a less than spectacular time. We were anxious to bring our sister and brother-in-law to The Mill for a pleasant New Year's meal. We made an early reservation, knowing that the place would become very noisy and busy closer to midnight. Apparently, each New Year's the restaurant chooses a theme for the night. This year the theme was "Casino time", and was decorated (actually over-decorated) in that theme. The restaurant is so lovely the rest of the year, that it was a real letdown to see the tacky decorations that filled the dining areas and bar. We chose the 4 course dinner, which was a good value, and was very nice. Our waiter, Kevin, who we have had before, was both personable and professional. Not so the young busboys who were obviously hired just for the evening. Conclusion: go to this wonderful restaurant on a quiet evening for an excellent meal, without the stress of a big holiday weighing on all.
