Very rarely can you find a local sushi restaurant that offers good solid sushi.Being new in town, i found Sushi Ya because teh other japanese place was closed.I was pleasantly surprised at this place. The staff were warm and welcoming and super quick from start to finish.
seating area is small but well done, neat and clean and very traditional clean lines.
The miso soup and salad were good fresh quality and tasteful.
We had 3 lunch specials ( all under $9) The salmon teriyaki had a neatly sliced piece of salmon that was super fresh and cooked to perfection with a teriyaki glaze.Beef negimaki was beautifully presented , tasty although somewhat salty but good.Portions on both these items were plentiful and satisfying.
The rolls we had were very tasty and there was no skimping on ingredients.Sushi was fresh and well prapared , although i wish some more effort had been made toward presentation which lacked usual Japanese flair! All in all a good solid dining experience and i will be happy to visit again.
Staff is quick to clean up plates and service is so quick you can be in and out in 45 minutes.
