Best Western The Garden Executive Hotel
Reviewed September 13, 2012

I stayed only one night (thankfully) at the Best Western Hotel due to a cancellation in my United Airlines Flight. The hotel is a good 45 mins away from the airport and is surrounded by number of malls and restaurants. However, after 2300 hrs, you can find nothing to eat or drink, except from the hotel's vending machines.

The room I stayed in was decent but there was a dominant stink. The lights in the bathroom didn't work and the furniture looked worn out. There was a sign that mentioned they were renovating the property, but overall the present condition is bad!

The breakfast at the hotel is a selection of several machines that dispense coffee, juice, croissants, etc. Nothing great and not even enough to satisfy your hunger, especially if you chose not to eat the Dunkin Donuts; which is the only option for dinner after 2300 hrs!

Try to skip this property if you can!

Room Tip: I am told the Ground Floor rooms were better.

The room was clean and the AC was cold. I like the make your own waffles at breakfast. Some hard-boiled eggs, english muffins and toast along with cereal and coffee. Yea, it was a carb-heavy breakfast, but still good.

Lots of parking near the entrance.

Lots of restaurants nearby and close to major highways.

Room Tip: No elevator. If you have heavy luggage, you are best asking for a ground floor room.

My wife & I stayed on a Wed. night in Aug. 2012. We got a room with King size bed, coffee maker, refrigerator, hair dryer, iron & ironing board, small desk. We arrived at about 7:30pm. The receptionist had his hands full with 3 groups of people, but he was very efficient and we got our room key reasonably quickly. The motel is a two story building without elevators. Our non-smoking room was quiet, clean and no odors but not as luxurious as a more expensive motel. The ice machine is co-located with the vending machines at the mid point of the U-shaped building. The breakfast room was clean but small for the number of rooms, so it was evident that one should collect one’s breakfast and head back the room to eat. Breakfast featured coffee brewed per cup, a variety of juices, French waffle maker, large deli bagels, small muffins & pastries, English muffins, toast, a variety of cereals, bananas, and more. The breakfast room attendant was alert and kept items in stock. The motel is surrounded by several shopping centers and restaurants. We had a fine supper the night before at the Chand Palace Indian restaurant about 2 mi. away, see review. A good choice for an economy motel, $93 including taxes through Priceline.com.

I stayed here for 2 nights with family, and used it as a base to visit friends in the Princeton area, and to visit Manhattan. The location is convenient for both purposes. The hotel is a few miles off the NJ turnpike. The one-storey appearance from outside is not remarkable, and it is dwarfed by other name-brand multi-storeyed hotels in the immediate vicinity. It is clean and comfortable on the inside. The checkin staff was friendly. The room (dble qn) was spacious with a workstation and a fridge (no microwave). The room was clean, and stocked as expected. There is free breakfast, parking and wi-fi. The breakfast was just ok, and not as remarkable as other Best Westerns I stayed at in the previous week. There are several shopping and dining facilities in the immediate area.

I stayed at the hotel while traveling on business this week. The location is convenient right off the highway. The grounds although not poor, but nothing special. To be fair there are two other hotels the are basically on the same lot or adjacent to the property. By the time I checked in, I was tired and just wanted to check in. Although not a full service hotel, there was a line of two others in front of me, and one in back of me. It took just under fifteen minutes to check in. I noticed the manager walking by. I am sure he noticed the line but rather than assisting, he walked right pass all of us. By the time I checked, my reception was far less than welcoming. My reception was more like visiting a State RMV or something. Not very friendly.

The hotel was clean. The rooms were average. I do have to say my bed was very comfortable. I slept great. The only thing strange about my room was my toilet was like twisted to the right. The only other strange thing about my room was there was a plaque on the entrance door with a memorial inscription? Yes, that was kind of weird!

Breakfast in the morning was a joke. It basically consisted of a coffee machine, a toaster, cereal dispenser, tang juice, crusty bagels, and a waffle maker.

The woman who checked me out in the morning was the most friendly in the hotel. She got me checked out in about thirty seconds while making me laugh.

Overall, the hotel is clean, economical, and as a previous poster stated, " good for a night or two". A 2 1/2 star property

Came out for a soccer tournament. This is already an expensive trip so an economical hotel was in order. Great price, (AAA rate), very clean, very friendly. The location next to so many restaurants and stores is very handy. No pool, but I wouldn't use it anyway. Exercise room wasn't fancy but I got a good workout, (treadmill, bicycle, weights).

No problems at all with this facility. The room was clean including the bathroom. Features a nice continental breakfast (simple but sufficient). Great location near many restaurants and big box stores, right off of 287 in new jersey. Entrance is a bit tricky but manageable. Great hotel if you are attaneding the annual Steampunk Wolrd's Fair just 5 minuts away in Piscataway. One night was $89 (AAA rate).
