We've eaten at Bottagra in Hawthorne and have recently moved to where Bottagra South is much more convenient. It's also much quieter. While Bottagra "north" is very noisy, Bottagra South is great for groups since we can now hear each other talk! We love the ambience and the food is just as good as up at "north". Desserts are great so be sure to leave room -- if you can resist all the wonderful appetizers and entrees. The service was very attentive and let us go at our pace.

Wow! Pizza margarhetta almost like Napoli. Service terrific. BYOB! Will have to go back with my wife to try other dishes.

We live almost an hour away and have been 4-5 times since the opening in December 2013. We have brought out of town family and in town friends and enjoyed each experience.
The entrees are creative, savory and portioned well.
We always look for BYOB's and are thrilled with Bottagra! The gelato is fantastic!
Kudos to all involved! I wish we lived closer.

The restaurant has changed names and owners, but the menu hasn't really changed. Clearly the recipes have. I ordered the Chicken Fantasia, which used to be my favorite. The sauce had no real flavor, the only thing that gave the dish taste was the artichoke hearts.
I started with the escarole and bean soup, which in my experience should have a broth base. This was creamy and tasted like melted butter and had clumps of unmelted cheese.
My husband found both his soup and entree very bland.
Perhaps we ordered the wrong things? The restaurant was full and the table next to us was happy with their food.
The best thing about the evening was our waiter, who was very professional.
One friend raves about their pizza as do the other reviews so maybe we'll try that if we return.

Ok, so the crowd that dines there is a little snotty, but the pizza/pasta and fish were all awesome. Seriously Jersey-mob dining crowd, but crazy-good pizza!
