Thank goodness there is still people who care about food in NJ! Try the batter dipped arugula appetizer -- fresh, hot and very interesting combination of flavors. The owners are involved in the back and front of the house and great you warmly. Crisp white linens and sparkling clean glasses and tableware -- something most restaurants have decided are not worth the effort are to be found here. BYO, so nice bit of savings for patrons. Service is attentive but unobtrusive. The bruschetta appetizer is served warm and after a lovely crunch of the crust, melts in your mouth. Tough to decide on the main course, pasta, fish or meat -- all were savored during our meal. Save room for dessert - profiterole or creme brulee and you will leave very satisfied and well as wanting to return!

Traditional Casual Italian at its Best!

You're not going to get a salty chicken parmigiana with baked ziti, which is Americanized Italian food. Instead you are getting top quality seafood with fresh pasta and sprinkling of the freshest herbs. It is light fare. No greasy food that weighs you down. After you eat and eat, you still feel good. Dessert was light and heavenly.

To top it off you are getting the owner's wife's great service from the second you walk into the door. She even introduced me to her son and daughter in law who were dining that evening as well. I was impressed by the food.

Atmosphere is modest and feels like home. If you are lucky the owner Felippo will play the piano and sing to you at 9 pm. Very special place. BYOB! Try it and you'll be back for sure.

Few other notes:

Parking is street side.

Look for the awning for the door (the place is in a strip of store fronts)

I would like to see more variety in the food served. I heard Filippo used to cook for guests without even a menu! I would like to try something off menu once.

I would like to see tiramisu on the dessert menu.

About $50 per person if you eat a 3 course meal. Entrees are in the high 20's.

We love this family owned restaurant. The husband is an excellent chef and his wife is the hostess. Filippi comes out to greet the diners, and will sometimes play the piano when encouraged. The menu primarily stays the same ( which we enjoy here since we have our favorite dishes). It's BYOB which we also enjoy. Great fresh food , nice ambiance.

I have been eating here for over 15 years. This is a family affair with Berti, wife of the chef greeting. The son and daughter also help along and so do their spouses. Filippo plays the piano and sings Italian songs frequently. The food is excellent and I specially like the sword fish. Filippos' family is from Sicily where his father was a fisherman. There is plently of parking in the back.
