“Total disappointment”
Reviewed January 8, 2012

Went to Stage House because of good reviews from friends of the new location in Somerset. What a waste of time and money. Went for a late-ish dinner on Sunday night. The place was relatively empty. Had to ask for a waiter and everything else. The waiter we finally got was inattentive and unobservent. Best food was a chicken ceasar wrap. My beet and goat cheese salad was disgusting to look at - tasted like it was recently unfrozen. Onion soup was lukewarm. Husband's shepherd's pie - a special - was adequate. For such unacceptable food it was hard to believe how long we had to wait. Obviously the Scotch Plains location's favorable ratings have moved to Somerset.

“Great place to eat!”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

Stage House Tavern has a great happy hour every day. There are $2.00 bar pizzas during the happy hour and drinks are reduced in price. The bartenders are very friendly and attentive. Have also enjoyed the fish and chips and the salmon dinners. Good atmosphere and service is very good.

“Great new go-to restaurant!”
Reviewed November 21, 2011

Just came back from my third time at Stage House in the last month -- every time has been great. Casual, delicious food with very friendly service and excellent management. Every time a manager has stopped by to see how everything is. Tried different food each time and have not found a weakness. Ravioli Monday is delicious. The mussels are great. So is anything made in their wood burning oven. It is so difficult to find a restaurant with both great food and great service at reasonable prices. This is it!

“Lively atmosphere and good food.”
Reviewed October 17, 2011

It was nice to be a part of the many patrons at this restaurant. There was a lively atmosphere and good food. The patrons were all ages, young and older. The bar was busy and a bit away from the dining area so it wasn't too noisy. The clientele were not rushed at all. The drinks were a bit pricey but good. I had the fish which was ok, my husband had the steak which could have been more tender. The prime rib was a nice size and done very nicely and the hamburger was rather good. The vegetables were tasty. We would go back. The Villagers theatre was very close and so this restaurant would make a good choice for before theatre dinner or after theatre fare.
