Planned a ladies weekend, and we shared a double with a couch/bed. Plenty of room, VERY clean, lovely marble bathrooms with lots of instant hot water and great water pressure. Front desk staff was efficient, knowledgeable about the area (already had maps printed for everything we could think of), and nice.

Best thing: the personable guy who runs the breakfast area. Wow. He hustles! The food is hot, the tables clean, and all three days I saw his tremendous kindness and patience with tons of impolite teenagers who were in town for a sports game. Well worth a large tip for him every day!

Only reason this does not get a 5 rating is the location. There just isn't anything to do around this street of hotels. No restaurants, entertainment, parks, or anything really to occupy the spare time. A nice location for Rutgers University and if you plan on bringing your own food, wine, etc.....then an ideal place to go.

Front desk was cheerful, lobby was inviting and bright, and the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Beds were excellent and this place was twice as nice as the Hampton Inn only a couple hundred yards away. Can definitely see the 1 rating for hotels in Somerset as compared to the others.

This Fairlfield was a nice place for a recent business stay. It's a newer hotel so there are no obvious signs of fraying around the edges and it is located in an attractive park like setting. The room (double queen bed) was good size, with decent internet service. The staff was courteous, especially the gentleman who runs the breakfast service. The front desk as the hotel accommodated my request to stay an extra night without issue, and although I had been advised I would have to switch rooms the 3rd night in order to do so, I was able to stay in the same room after all. I was not able to change the setting for the thermostat and the windows do not open at all, so it was somewhat stuffy for sleeping. Other than that, no complaints.

My Husband and I traveled to Piscataway, New Jersey to enjoy the Big East Conference Track and Field Meet located at the Bauer Complex. This fantastic hotel was in a convenient location just minutes from the event. The hotel's outside appearance was inviting. Inside of the hotel was found to be neat and excellent condition. The staff was friendly and courteous. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable with lots of pillows to make our sleep areas more relaxing. The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus. I would definitely return to this hotel and highly recommend to friends and family.

My organization booked a conference room here for 3 days - the staff was overwhelmingly friendly and accommodating - they went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed, and they assisted us at every angle. The gentleman at the front desk Thursday evening was very courteous and the young ladies Saturday evening were as well. Also, the man who prepared the breakfast in the morning was wonderful - he insisted that we eat something during our busy event and brought us cookies and water. We could not have asked for a better experience and we will be booking here for all of our business needs in the area.

I also stayed at the hotel for Thursday and Friday evening, and the room was beautiful and clean. Props to the management and staff at this hotel - I will certainly be back!

Room Tip: Be careful when using GPS to find this hotel - myself and several others found difficulties when the...

I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and have been impressed because of the following reasons:
I think this is a newish Fairfield Inn and as such does not show the normal wear and tear that one sees in hotels of this caliber. The rooms are large and very comfortable with the normal Marriott finishes.
The staff are all great - if there is an issue they will will sort it out quickly. They are friendly, especially the gentleman who runs the breakfast area. You would think that it was his own restaurant the way he fusses around and greets everyone!
Hotels are normally "places to stay" and it is the little things that make it different.

Room Tip: As usual the higher floors are quieter

If this hotel was supposed to be a well-kept secret, it isn't anymore! For business travelers, this is the place you wanna be if the basic necessities is all you really need. The property is very clean, quiet, and the staff is extremely nice and professional. It is so quiet that you feel like you are the only one there. The rooms are very comfortable and include a microwave and refrigerator. They offer a simple but very nice complimentary full breakfast every morning and hot beverages are available 24/7. In lieu of in-room dining services, they have a "Market" where they carry assorted beverages (alcohol and non), microwaveable cuisine, candy, and snacks. It is a nice little set-up to get a quick, not-to-expensive meal and/or midnight snack. Upon check-in they do provide you with a list of nearby restaurants (that will deliver) and fast food places for your pleasure if you want something more than what the "Market" offers. The only negative things that I can say is the water from the sink is a bit cloudy so I did not make coffee in my room and the water pressure for the toilet is low so you have to hold the handle down to make sure everything flushes. Now, of course, other rooms may not have these petty issues but nevertheless, this place provides the comforts of home away from home.
