We stayed her because we wanted to eat at my cousins' restaurant, 701 Mosaic in Ocean City, NJ and did not want to drive the two hours back home the same day. Great food by the way. Upon checking in the staff was extremely friendly and polite-no wait at all. We were given a choice of first or second floor room. We stayed in a studio suite which had a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, full size oven and fridge. It looked like no one had ever used it. Room also had a fireplace. Very Clean. You need a "man made" log. I had brought one with us but it was warm. The free breakfast was average. The make your waffles and coffee were good. Hotel was located about 3 miles from Ocean City. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is convient to the Garden State and the staff is friendly and helpful, including getting tee times for the Greate Bay Country Club across the street. This is however an older Residence Inn with old furnishings and a rock-hard full-sizebed. The breakfast was very nice and the staff were very helpful and attentive in keeping the breakfast bar well-stocked. If only they had Marriott beds that were softer/wider/longer. Nest time, I'll try the new Residence Inn up the Garden State a few exits.

The good: Had a one-bedroom penthouse, which had a lot of room and a good layout. The room had up-to-date amenities and looked current. The hotel is in a great location for being outside Ocean City and catered to families, and there were a few who had dogs, too. My husband said that there was a good variety of food at breakfast, which was always packed. The staff was very nice when we decided to switch rooms (see below) and even gave us beach tags and ride coupons for the OC boardwalk.

The bad: The rooms were a bit dark, although it was more of the layout of the buildings. We were put into Building 11 and had an ant problem in the kitchen that bothered me since we have an infant and needed to use that space. We were told that a toxic-free method would be used to get rid of the ants, but the maintenance person used a chemical bug spray that we didn't want to expose our baby to and said he only knew of the problem in that room and another room in Building 12. He suggested that we move, so we were switched to Building 5 after one night. However, I didn't feel comfortable there after reading the review about the mice, although we didn't have any problems with them or ants.

It sounds like most people have had a great experience there, and we had hoped to as well, but cleanliness is the top priority, so we would not return.

My family and I enjoyed staying at the Residence Inn in Somers Point. The hotel is in a perfect location, close to the Garden State Parkway and convenient to Ocean City beaches and boardwalk. The staff are exceptional and the suites are spacious and clean. Can't wait to go back!

This hotel has a smoke-free policy, but not a mouse-free policy. We woke up in the middle of the night to strange scratching sounds turned on the lights and saw two mice running across the kitchen counters and disappearing behind the cabinets. We were in Building 5 facing the marsh which borders the property in the back. Besides the disgusting smell that comes from that marsh that's probably why they have a mouse problem and who knows what else in certain rooms. If you do stay here make sure that it's in a room toward the front of the property and you may not have the problem we did. Next time we're in the area we'll stay at the Residence Inn in Egg Harbor Township.

Stayed for 2 nights in a loft suite and found it very large and convienent. Room was clean and well furnished. Free breakfast was abundent and very tasty. Swiming pool was small and so was the tennis court. Coming home late one night parking was pretty tight and we had to make our own spot. All in all a very nice hotel

I stayed at the Residence Inn in Somers Point with my spouse and three children. We had a king suite room on the first floor. The accomodations were adequate, but it was a bit tight for 5 of us. The kitchen and bathroom vanity were updated with granite countertops. The toilet and bathtub were separated from the sink area, which was a plus.
Pros -- Close to Ocean City, right over the bridge. Free breakfast. Outdoor pool is heated.
Negatives -- There was only one TV for the room and there was no separation between the king bed and queen sofa pull-out couch. It was a bit tight, so when you opened up the pull-out couch it almost touched the fireplace and blocked the desk. We did not use the fireplace. You have to purchase a Duraflame log if you want to do that.
Another negative was that we stayed two nights and housekeeping never showed up. After our first night -- and we were out the entire next day giving ample opportunity to housekeeping to clean -- I had to get new towels from the front desk.
The breakfast was included and was OK. The scrambled eggs tasted processed and although I love eggs, I couldn't eat them. But there were other choices, like cereal, and there was a waffle maker, yogurt, bagels, danishes, and fresh fruit. The coffee was actually really good.
Another negative is parking. While there are parking spaces, there were not a lot of parking spaces, and you have to walk to unit. The set-up of the units is nice, resembling a townhouse complex with interior grounds.
Another negative is the pool and pool area is small, so it can get crowded.
Also, the rate you book does not include the state tax, city tax, etc. The taxes added about another $25-30 per night. If you book here, I would ask how much it is going to cost for the taxes.
