Great location to Ocean City beaches (even though not being on the beach but getting some of the perks of staying in a chain). Staff was very accommodating (upgraded us to a PH suite because the bedding we had requested and thought had gotten was not available - last minute booking while driving). Daughter loved the upstairs loft bedroom and private bath (stayed at several 4 and 5 star places and none were a 2 floor layout before). Service was excellent and friendly. Rooms were clean, but parts of room and outside amenities needs renovations/updating (supposedly started in some areas already?).

Room Tip: apparently King rooms are all on the first floor.

We normally stay at Residence Inns because they are nice lodgings that take dogs. Although it's not always the case many dog friendly hotels are pretty casual in their furnishings and maintenance but Residence Inns are Marriotts so they are always nice. This was no exception EXCEPT we didn't have our dog with us. But, we had a rewards certificate to use and we needed to be in the area. When we arrived we were upgraded to a penthouse suite which had an upstairs bed and bath we never used. The furnishings looked to be very recently upgraded and the house keeping was very good. We did not have time for either the nightly reception ( generally more than enough to skip going out to dinner) or the buffet breakfast but the hotel, while crowded the evening we were there , was very quiet and the bed exceptionally comfortable so we experienced a very good night's sleep. The look and feel of this Residence Inn is like some of the older ones we've stayed at but it provided a good start to our vacation and the front desk staff was exceptionally helpful.

Hello and Thank You for the kind words regarding your recent stay here at our property! We definitely try and keep our rooms updated and as modern as possible and this does not take away from pets being in the room rather reinforces it. Hopefully on your next visit to the shore area you can bring your pet with you and make sure to stop by the front desk area so we can all say hello. Once more thank you and hope to see you soon on a future visit.

Typical Residence inn- large rooms, comfy beds, village feel. Check in was painless and the young man at the desk was helpful. The room seemed clean to me, but my wife, who is certainly more picky, was grossed out by a stray hair in the bottom of a draw. What bugged me was the the black out of most of the TV channels. The front desk blamed it on the weather. I don't know, but my TV at home never looses channels when it rains. Even when I had dish, when a storm came through we would only loose TV for a few minutes, and not select channels all night. Seems to me like a bogus excuse. My other complaint was that the room temperature was difficult to regulate. They still have old style thermostats and there is a delay before it responds. These are not major problems and I would stay here again without a second thought.

We have stayed at the Residence Inn in Somers Point, NJ before, but had the chance to stay there again last weekend and it has once again been a great experience from check-in through check-out. The front desk is always cheerful and helpful. Mary, at the front desk when we arrived, graciously enabled us to check-in early (so we could go to the beach after unpacking the car and would not have to worry about that later in the day). We did not really expect to be able to check-in early, as we arrived before check-out time for the previous night's guests, but Mary informed us with a big smile that our "room was ready" and we could check-in. The early check-in was a great help, but the friendliness with which it was accomodated is so unusual in our travels that I have to emphasize it, since it is one of the things that makes this property so lovely to visit, They have spacious, well maintained, and fully equipped studios and larger - with king, queen and double rooms (penthouses also have lofts for even more space to spread out), full kitchens (with full size refrigerators and freezers), nice big bathrooms and comfortable living area with fireplaces. The rooms are immaculate and they even give you microwave popcorn in your kitchen. There are 2 TV's and plenty of work areas if you need them. There are regular coffee makers, and you have coffee, salt, pepper, sugar, cutting boards, cooking and eating utensils and even a plastic pitcher with a lid for drinks to share. Ice maker is in the main building, but easy to find. If you need ice, just ask at the front desk and they will cheerfully help you - they are always very nice.

They provide a free breakfast that included waffles (and chocolate chips, nuts and whipped cream if you want - to top them with), scrambled eggs, hash, biscuits and gravy, juices, cereals, bread, bagels, muffins, fruit, oatmeal (with toppings), yogurt and coffee - with plenty of seating in several rooms. They did not run out of anything and someone was always there in case anyone needed anything.

There is a nice pool with lounge chairs and it is fenced in (if you have little ones to worry about). You can park right outside of your room and they have handicapped rooms that also have handicapped parking spaces also directly outside of those rooms. It is nice and quiet and the back of the hotel looks out across the bay to Ocean City. If you do not need to stay right on the beach, this is perfect location for visiting Ocean City - just over the bridge!

They will even give you a list of restaurants in the area with directions and phone numbers, but they also have a small "market" in the main building where you dan buy something to heat back in your room if you do not wish to go out. You can't go wrong with this choice and I only wish everywhere else to stay in this geographic area could be more like this great property. We look forward to our next visit!

Room Tip: Rooms in the back building look out over the bay towards Ocean City and there is no road behind the...

Thank for your kind words regarding your recent stay with us and the kind words about Mary. I'm most pleased that your needs were met as well your time was joyfully spent while visiting our lovely shore area. We definitely have many frequent families that join us summer after summer to partake in the local fairs and venues and the setup of our suites allows for their stay to be a "Home Away from Home".

We stayed here years ago and had a great experience. This time was no different! After we checked in my friend took a shower and the tub was so clogged it didn't drain so I called the front desk and she sent someone over immediately and he repaired it with no problems thereafter. Also got immediate service when asked for extra towels. Breakfast is good! But get there early as they don't seem to restock very well. Our room was clean and it was definitely redone from ten years ago. Mattress bed was ok but we didn't care since we were just there for two days. Pool is clean! We were very happy and would stay here again! Price for two nights was also reasonable.

I have stayed at this property since it opened in the 90s. The staff is friendly and helpful and the place is clean so I will no doubt return. The free breakfast is normally decent but this time it was awful. The coffee was always empty, the eggs were powdered and horrible. The French toast was more like egg brushed plain toast and was usually out, you had to pounce on the poor woman ringing it out to get a piece. Even though they were tearing around like mad , the staff remained pleasant and friendly all the time. The room was overall clean but in some disrepair that can use updating (peeling wallpaper, water damaged spots etc.). The property is showing its age but the Residence Inn Somers Point is still a good value and a good hotel.

Room Tip: Most rooms are good, not much noise but the penthouse rooms are quieter ur obviously more $.

Great amenities, nice breakfast, pool! Rooms were very nice and large. Had 1Q bed and sofa bed with a full kitchen (including dishwasher!) BBQ area. 10 mins to OC and 15-20 from AC.
Awesome place for a small family!
Only downside was parking lot filled up!
