mean something? Because it seemed like we did when we first tried this restaurant. Really simply prepared, large portions, relaxed atmosphere - just a really pleasant way to have dinner with family. Dinner start with warm bread and muffin, but don't fill up on these, because portions are substantial and comforting. Waitresses are extremely attentive and flexible ( a couple of fussy diners in our clan), and make one feel at home. The only reason I don't give it a 5 is the wait system - wish they would take reservations. It's not anyone is going to cancel.

Every couple of years we travel back to the Jersey Shore and Crab Trap is a must visit. This is a typical seafood joint- little atmosphere, noisy, and fresh seafood. We usually go to the Early Bird dinner because portions are good and prices are lower. This time there were 9 in our party so we went at dinner time. We thought our server forgot us, water seldom appeared, and no lemons were available. Bread selection was warm. The chowder was full of clams and the broth was flavorful. All of us were pleased with our meals-they arrived at the same time and were the correct temperature which should be expected at a restaurant with prices in the $20 plus range. My shrimp stuffed with crab imperial were excellent and the sweet potato was also. Most of the group ordered crab imperial. We'll visit again but will hope for better service.

We have at a place at the beach and always went here for dinner. Tired of poor service, waiters waitresses you cannot understand, the crab imperial was over cooked for the second time we've been there this year and my daughters dinner was awful. Tastes like frozen brocoli with baby frozen shrimp over pasta with a horrible sauce. Bummers I loved this place.

Went there about 730 on a Saturday night. About a 45 min wait. Waitress extremely pleasant. My prime rib and shrimp were done perfectly. My wife's crab cakes were also perfect. Only bad point was that it was a little on the loud side but it seems most places are anymore. They deserve their reputation.
