“Wait, and then wait some more”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

We love Smitty's for all the same reasons as everyone else. Iconic summer meal, outstandingly fresh seafood, etc. But Woody Allen said it best, it's so busy no one goes there anymore.

If you are going on the weekend, you will be much happier if don't go starving and make sure to bring plenty of booze to keep you busy while you wait. As in a 2 hour wait last Friday night and it was 50 degrees outside.

“A must visit shore spot!”
Reviewed May 31, 2013 via mobile

I made my first visit of 2013 over memorial day weekend. As a frequent diner i look forward to smittys opening as it marks summer! The prices are fair but it is cash only. The food is always fresh and consistent. There is no air conditioning but if you are looking for fine dining and fancy atmosphere this is not the place. If you want great quick seafood meal and a byob spot there are none better.

“Very good for the money.”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

The title says it all. Very inexpensive seafood and as a bonus it's more then edible. BYOB makes it less expensive still but it makes the wait longer since you have lots of people camped out for a long stay. Always crowded, tough to park, and long waits. Other then that a very good place to spend a lot of time catching up with friends while getting a buzz waiting to eat. This is the place to be if you have pleanty of time and want a decent cheap meal.It is what it is. Breakfast is also good and cheap.

“A JERSEY SHORE TRADITION”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

You know summer is coming because Smitty's is open. Great seafood, fried and broiled, nothing bad on this menu.
It's BYOB, and you should expect to wait to be seated.
Patrice leads the front of the house staff, and they are terrific, as is Patrice.
Kid friendly.

“Great Breakfast”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

Have been going here for years. Great breakfasts, typical old seashore "shanty" on the waterfront. It's popular even off season on the weekend so get there before 10:00 am if you want to avoid a wait.
