We have stayed many times at the Inn and will come many more. They treat us like family and we loved our room. Warm and comfy place to sit and watch the lights dance in the lake. The best hot chocolate around!! We walked to my hubby's birthday dinner at the Smithville Inn and then enjoyed the shops and the holiday feel while heading back to our room. The tub and shower are wonderful!! We got a free bar of soap from the Egg Harbor Soap company when we told them we were staying here. The other stores were giving us 10% off when we showed them the key to the room. Isn't that great? We love the Colonial Inn and look forward to our next visit.

We stayed in one of the Village rooms over night for a wedding. While it seemed like we were only there a short time, we did enjoy our room and the ambiance of staying in The Village rooms with the Village view. Since we were there during the Christmas season and at night for a wedding, we were able to really enjoy seeing Historic Smithville decorated for Christmas. The bed was comfortable, the shower was awesome (steam shower) and the room decor was quaint and welcoming. The staff was very polite and cheerful. Even someone waiting to check in asked if we had stayed there before and said that they always return to the Colonial Inn. I have already recommended it to my family/friends.

I drove to the Inn to officiate at a wedding on 10/23/10 and had such a wonderful experience with the remarkable competent staff and friendly setting that I immediately hoped that I'd have another opportunity to visit Smithfield. Yesterday, I just met with a couple who will be celebrating their nuptials at the Smithville Inn on 6/24/11. It will be so lovely so see the inn in summer having been so impressed with the inn during the fall season. I'm so pleased that that a couple inviting their circle of family and friends will have an opportunity to bond in such an embracing environment. That just doesn't happen in a Ritz Carlton environment. This inn and towne is a true gathering place and, for one significant weekend, it must serve as the family home with all the good energy that each and wedding couple and their dear ones deserve. Although I haven't dined at the inn or stayed overnight, my one evening of experience was enough. Additionally, the couple as well as their parents and college friends all gushed about what a lovely time they were having and how tremendously kind the staff was. That's because the employees think and behave like inn keepers. (It's the only place where someone came up to me -- the officiant -- and in the tradition of true hospitality asked if they could take my coat and get me something to drink. How genuinely appreciated this unusual kindness was.)

The staff was friendly and accomodating. Even though it was cold, the staff tried to make it up to us by providing free coffee/tea and treats for my 3 year old. Although my son was disappointed that he couldn't ride on the carousel because of the cold, so the staff at Colonial Inn found a way to operate the carousel just for him. They are concerned about customer satisfaction, and I am extremely pleased and satisfied. The rates are reasonable and a great way to get away from the bustle of Atlantic City boardwalk (which is 20 minutes). I live in New York City and I would love to stay at the Colonial Inn again just to experience the feel of a simplier time and walk through the beauty and charm of this quiant town.

Stayed at the barn. 4 girl friends.
Great place . We are all in our 60's felt like we were kids at camp. A really classy camp. Loved the breakfast basket. Great place to enjoy girls time off.

My husband and I stayed in the Captain Fitz room the second night of the Christmas Tree Light Show on the lake. We sat at a table by a window for dinner at the nearby, within walking distance of the Smithville Inn so we could take in all of the delightfulness of the light show as well as a delicious dinner. The shops were quaint, everyone was very hospitable. It was our first stay in a Bed and Breakfast and we would definitely do it again. Our room had a view of both sides of the lake to enjoy the lights even more and an old fashioned carousel and our muffins and croissants were still warm and fresh the next morning served in a beautiful little basket. The history around this village was very interesting and the Christmas shops were addicting. Loved hearing the cockle doodle doo of the roosters in the morning.
