Walking through Smithville last Sunday, stumbled upon the Bumble Bee Bake Shop.....what a little Gem of a Bakery. When you walked in you could smell the butter, vanilla, sugar and all those yummy goodies.. The BEST CUPCAKES AND SCONES....I have ever tasted, and I've had many. The cupcakes blow "Those Famous Cupcake Places" out of the water!!!! My biggest dilemma is that they are so far away. Not only did everything look amazing....it tasted as good as it looked. The black & white cupcake, moist, rich and not overly sweet....the savory scone...OMG...the blueberry scone...it actually had loads of fresh blueberries and the coconut shortbread cookies...well, what can I say..there was sooo much coconut and butter, they were more than amazing....Will definitely be making a trip to this bakery again shortly. Definitely worth the trip, and the owner is the Baker, so you know he takes pride in his work....and it shows!!

We always used to go to Easter Brunch here, and I recently had my engagement party at the Smithville Inn. The brunch buffet is awesome and their rooms for big parties are pretty cool too. There's lots of geese that go by, so you can give them bread and stuff, and kids like them.

We went for the May Fest. Had a great time. Plenty of vendors and food. Wish they had a farmers market as well. All in all a great time for young and old alike.

Smithville attraction is a collection of shops and eateries around small water pond. Easy walk and good place to give the kids some exercise before getting back into the car.
