When searching for restaurant possibilities during our recent weekend stay in Stockton, some of the options on the seasonal menu of The Sergeantsville Inn caught my eye. I like to try the exotic and their double-cut wild boar rack (rubbed in sea salt and served with wild rice) did not disappoint. They have other similarly exotic offerings as well. My wife also enjoyed her Salmon Posillipo (poached with white wine, plum tomatoes and served over linguini). Their selection of wines and beers is excellent and includes a beer offering from the local River Horse Brewery as well as several wines from the local Unionville Vinyards. The wait staff was very accommodating. The atmosphere is very romantic for a dinner - the buildings date back to the 1700s. All in all, it is well worth a visit.

Went to this restaurant on Saturday August 18, 2012 for lunch, with my wife . We were given a table very fast and with a smile . Service was very fast and our server was always there when we needed something . They were flexible with any of our requests. My wife had steak, mashed and spring vegtables. I had wide caught samon. Everything was fresh and delicious. You can get good food at other places, but what made this restaurant was the historic past (Built in the early 1700's) the artifacts, upscale atmosphere, and is Zagot rated. You can get a card that explains its history. Prices were 15 to 30 dollars per entree but also offered a lighter fare in the tavern . I would recommend this restaurant to anyone .

We spent an impromptu lovely evening at the Inn. We live nearby, but haven't eaten there for years, usually eating out only when we travel. Without reservations on a busy Saturday night, we headed for the bar room and were seated immediately. We still had our pick of all the menus- from the full menu to the casual bar menu- from appetizers and salads to seafood and exotic meats. The bar staff was very helpful with our selections, although we drooled as other dishes went by. The Inn itself is a beautiful old structure with a number of intimate dining rooms, excellent menu and bar, and yet remains unpretentious. Go there for fun or go for a special occasion- you will be happy either way.

It is a romantic place for a dinner for two or a place to bring special guests. The food is outstanding, the service impeccable and I was so impressed by the seasonal menu.

We have frequented this restaurant for many years and always had wonderful service and excellent food, but the last couple of visits from late 2011 until recently have been disappointing. The menu has lost its zip and is not as intriguing and the wait staff is poorly trained and has no helpful knowledge of the menu. When asked about the type of fish being served we were informed that it was a “fishy” fish. Certainly did not bring to mind and an appetizing dish. Although a beautiful drive through Bucks and Hunterdon Counties, I think we will be looking for a new place to rendezvous with our North Jersey friends.
