My daughter and I recently attended a Convention in NYC. We picked this Hotel instead of our usual one because of the low cost. We were initially disheartened by the location (near Route 3 on one side and the Turnpike on the other). However, the room fans deadened ALL of the highway noise. The room was very clean, double beds VERY comfortable and the Breakfast was first class. It was convenient to the nearby Secaucus Harmon Meadow Complex where my daughter and I rode the bus to NYC for $3.95 each way. Definitely NOT plush but for those wanting basic comfortable accomodations on a budget, check it out.

Room Tip: Upper floors are quieter than lower floors in general.

Please take the source into consideration when reading this review. I travel a lot and have the good fortune of being able to stay at the Hilton and Marriott brands.

This said, if you are on a very tight budget when visiting NYC this is an OK place to say. It is dingy looking. Stains on carpets, smears on the wall of the elevators. NOT a dirt bag hotel by any means, just not one of the higher end. I have stayed here several times, it has never chased me away, but would never be my first choice if the Hilton and Marriott brands are not playing the jack the rate up sky high games which happens when something is going on in NYC.

Meadowlands surprising has an excellent, somewhat top of the line restaurant in the lobby!!!! there is also all the shuttle conveniences available to you that the biggest and best of the hotels offer. There is a Wendy's across the parking lot as well as a great Italian restaurant next door. You will eat well.

Look, again, consider the source (me) on the selection of this hotel.......but by price, it is the best around.

Room Tip: get a $10.00 upgraded room and ask for the 9th floor if they have it

This hotel continues to do a good job at providing low cost lodging near NYC.
The hotel's free shuttle will take you directly to Secaucus Junction (and pick you up) where you can catch the train into Penn Station for $4. Such a great alternative to staying in NYC if that is what you are looking for.

Rooms here are always clean, The staff is very helpful, and willing to address immediate concerns.

We wanted to visit Manhattan but didn't want the hassel/expense of staying/parking in the city. The Meadowlands Plaza Hotel was just the ticket - it is easily accessable off from Rt. 3 and they have a 24 hr. shuttle to and from the N. J. Transit bus stop. From there it's just a short drive through the Lincoln Tunnel to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan where you are within an easy walk of Broadway, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, and numerous other attractions. When your return just give them a call and the shuttle will pick you up.
We spent three nights there and the staff at the Meadowlands Plaza Hotel was very friendly and helpful. The bed was firm but comfortable and the full breakfast was a nice change from the typical Continental ones. I would definitely recommend this hotel - especially to someone like me who is a country girl and finds getting to and around N.Y.C. a little intimidating.

Room Tip: The heater in our room was a little noisy but not enough to prohibit sleep.
