“Good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

I thought it was kind of expensive, but it did have really good location. Very clean room, as expected of Marriott and really nice views from the balcony. I didnt want to pay for parking at the Secaucus Metro station, which for some reason is way more expensive than other stations at around 25$ per day. The hotel has a shuttle to and from the station (7am to 10pm and midnight on weekends) which was ideal for us. No breakfast but coffee maker, fridge and microwave in room.

Whilst not the best hotel in the world, it's certainly a clean, comfortable, convenient and ... above all ... cheap alternative to Manhattan Hotel prices.

The bus to the Port Authority stops right outside the hotel, taking you into the heart of Manhattan for all your sightseeing and it's also extremely convenient for the MetLife Stadium.

Great location, easy access to Manhattan, plenty of restaurants within a block, and a Sam's Club/Walmart to boot. Shopping mall within a 1/2 mile.
Friendly and helpful personnel, and nice clean rooms.
The big negative to this property is the parking, or lack of parking. It's free, which is good, but the garage is shared by many shops, restaurants, and a huge gym, and it takes a lot of time, every time to find a space.
I would never stay there again just for this issue, not when I can stay across the street at a Hampton with their own lot.

Room Tip: I got a suite upgrade, but next to a elevator. Ask first! I've traveled for many years, and lea...

Once again we found a Courtyard to fit our need almost perfectly. Parking at the rear of the hotel was very convenient, indoors and free. check in was professional, friendly and prompt and Cheryl who checked us in showed us schedules for buses to NYC, wifi info and more.

Our room was clean large and extremely comfortable as was the bathroom and came ith comfortable ergonomic office chair and small fridge. Shower pressure was excellent. TV choices were dismal, but we didn't come to watch TV. My only complaint was the slamming of doors by other guests up to the early AMs, but this is not the fault of the hotel.

Convenience for getting to and from NYC was perhaps the biggest draw. The bus leaves from across the street and we were at the Port authority in 15 minutes for $7.90 round trip per person. Another bonus was a rather pleasnat area with lots of coffee shops and restaurants just a short walk away. Area felt very safe, though guests are advised not to leave valuables in their cars. That said I did see mobile security in the parking lot each time we used it.

Will we be back to this location? almost certainly!

My family stayed at this hotel for an extended weekend. The hotel itself was clean and the staff at check in were very nice. I was surprised that the rooms were not bigger. To fit a family of four was a squeeze. It is not far to the Meadowlands if you are looking to stay for an event. The hotel is located near a Mall where there is plenty of dining choices, but that is it. The reason why I rated this hotel average is because there is no swimming pool or any activity for that matter for the kids. Also they did not offer any kind of complimentary breakfast. My wife paid alot of money for a bowl of cereal for the kids. I suggest if you stay here take advantage of the fridge in the room athough not big it is useful. Once again if cleanliness is your thing the hotel was that. Although on a side note, they cleaned the room, but did not replenish the towels on the floor.

This hotel is somehow both in a terrible spot and a great one at the same time. It's in a big shopping complex with plenty of (chain) restaurants and famous big-box stores close by, but it's not a comfortable place to walk through and has a sketchy parking garage. In micro: the hotel is attached to an Outback steakhouse, but the door that leads directly from the hotel to the restaurant is blocked off, so you have to actually walk out the back door of the hotel and into the back door of the Outback to get in.

Hotel itself was fine, with very good service and a pretty lobby, but rooms were nothing to write home (or to TripAdvisor) about. Bathroom had strange water pressure issues, and wi-fi was erratic. Not a terrible place by any means, but just a weird one.

Why would anyone want to pay over the top prices to stay in Manhattan when this hotel is only a short bus ride from Port Authority? (The NJ bus 231 stops right outside the hotels door!).

The hotel is close to a wide variety of restaurants and shopping opportunities (Marshalls, Kohls, Sports Authority, Walmart, Sams Club etc) are within a few minutes walk. The hotel also runs complimentary shuttle service to locations within a 3 mile radius which was very useful for getting to Staples as I needed to pick up some supplies for a trade show!).

The staff at the hotel were very helpful, and its hard to single anyone out, but special mentions to our wonderful housekeeper (wish I could remember her name) and the two gentleman who provide the shuttle service. Nothing was too much trouble, they were both just great ambassadors for the hotel.

My only niggle is the lack of tea / coffee / snack service in the afternoon, as the in-house F&B is only open for breakfast. The Front Office staff are more than happy to assist, but its a shame that the 'bar' area is not manned in the afternoon / early evening - when its cold outside it would be great to have a selection of hot drinks readily available with some cakes / snacks.
