I recently stayed here for 8 days whilst on business and had to request to change my room because of the noise from the outback restaurant below, reception staff were very accommodating and arranged this instantly. The lobby has recently been refurbished and has a very modern look and feel and the complimentary breakfast was lovely.

Everything was on par for a courtyard. Spacious and clean rooms, cute decor throughout, and friendly staff. Several easy to access computers for guests made printing boarding passes easy (there is a computer specifically for printing boarding passes as you exit the elevator that was not working but it was no big deal to walk around the corner to the sit down computers and print it there).

The location is ok but not great. We wanted to be able to easily get into NYC without being in the city. The closest train station is not within walking distance so you have to take a cab to/from the station. However, the cab ride is short and cheap, and once you are at the NJ Transit station, it's easy from there to get in and out of NYC. Also easy to get a cab at both ends.

All restaurants in the immediate area (walking distance) are national chains!

Stayed with my family (two uncles, two cousins) for a couple of nights in Courtyard Secaucus. Given that we went just before New Year's eve, getting the price we got was, maybe exaggerating a bit, a steal. The hotel is very close to NYC, with decent accessibility either by car (we had rented) or by public transport. In the former case, Lincoln Tunnel is $13 and five minutes away without traffic. In the latter, bus #320 is handy every twenty minutes and direct to PABT.
As for the hotel itself, it certainly showcases chain efficiency. Check in was prompt and courteous (at midnight), requests attended quickly (extra blankets, mainly) and a good, though a bit expensive, breakfast bar. Complimentary tea made our way to NYC nicer. Staff was very attentive, supplying
The only downside we found was that the room we had reserved was supposed to have two queen beds and instead had one queen bed and one double sofa bed, which made sleep quality a bit less than optimal the first night. Otherwise, hotel lived up to expectations.

After staying on the other side of Harmon Meadow for 3.5 months at a terrible hotel by the large parking deck and movie theater, this made the 5 month stay working in NYC great! The staff was always friendly and helpful and were extraordinary considering I was there between Sept and Nov 2012 and when Hurricane Sandy hit. During the storm, the property never lost power or satellite so I was able to feel safe during the natural disaster. Also, wedged between an Outback and Carraba's. The Carrabas is extraordinary as well and stayed open due to the storm to provide exceptional service to guests in the midst of the circumtances. I wish I remembered the names of staff of the Marriott but all were exceptional and Felicia and Gil working the Bar at Carraba's were great hosts as well! Also, next to the bus stop to Manhattan via the Lincoln Tunnel which made it easy to get to work each morning.

I stayed at this hotel for 3nights while visiting NYC. I love that the hotel is very reasonably priced and has a public bus that allows me to get back and forth to Manhattan so easily. It was really simple to use and the staff was very helpful in providing information about the bus.
My check in process took a little longer than I would have liked as I think the person doing it was either new or uncertain how to use the computer. But other than that, everyone was very nice, happy, helpful and able to answer any questions. The room was clean, well stocked and the temperature was easy to regulate(as I often find many hotel rooms too hot and cant be adjusted.)

I recently stayed here for business. Greeted nicely at checkin, but unfortunately, checkin took about 15 minutes. They just weren't staffed correctly for the number of folks coming in.
I had no issues with the front desk otherwise. They were always cheerful when I stopped by or just walked into the hotel. Parking is easy and adjacent to the hotel in a parking garage. The room was only average, overall. Several very convenient places to eat are right outside the hotel entrance, and a short stroll nets you a few more. A decent stay overall.
I would stay here again for business travel.

I imagine the surprise at not having a 'free' breakfast by many of the reviewers is because they are not familiar with the Marriott family of hotels. For the record, Courtyards do not serve 'free' breakfast. If you want a free breakfast, you must stay at a Fairfield Inn. Given that, this Courtyard has the 'newest' iteration of the Courtyard lobby and is quite nice. We had two rooms, one on each side of the hotel, and they both were just fine. Ours was directly across from the elevator, but I never heard it. The rooms on the back side of the property have a nice view of New York City; however, the downside would be that you are also overlooking the roof of the parking garage. The garage parking has sufficient parking spaces and it is FREE! Yes, that beats paying the high prices to park in New York. If you love Big Fish, this restaurant is a very short drive away. I would definitely stay here again.
