“Fun for little kids, but pricey”
Reviewed June 26, 2012

Just spent the afternoon with the dinosaurs. Our 5 year old daughter really loved the dinos, but we did not love the price. $75 for 3 of us plus $10 parking seemed a bit out of control. You can save a little by buying tix online ahead of time, but not much. The dinosaurs were really cool and life-sized, but there was not much of interest for older kids. Some additional scientific information at the exhibits, or some actual fossils or bones in a displaymight help. The fossil dig was fun for little ones-like a giant sand box. We got through the whole place in about 2 hours. If they had a ride or two (even a little train) it might make it seem a little more worth the price. It was definitely something to see once, but probably won't be making a 2nd trip unless they expand the exhibits.

“Well done for younger kids”
Reviewed June 20, 2012 via mobile

We went to 'Field Station: Dinosaurs' recently with our 3 boys (ages 10, 7, and 7). This was a very well done exhibit but I believe it is more appropriate for slightly younger children. They were very interested in the first couple of dinosaurs but then lost interest in the actual dinosaurs and were trying to figure out the behind the scenes robotics, sound, etc. We said more then once "two years ago they would have been fascinated by this!"

I want to be careful that this review does not come across as negative - the exhibit is excellent and the staff was incredibly friendly and engaging with the boys. It WAS pretty cool to see a life size T-Rex with a backdrop of the Manhattan skyline.

While I would not bring our boys back I absolutely would return with younger children and would recommend this to parents of the 4-6 year old crowd.
