“The place to stay in seaside park”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

We booked the room for two nights very last minute and we weren't sure what to expect. That part of the jersey shore is very known for the crazy party people that take over the hotels. For our surprise the hotel was full of families.
The room was super clean, the staff friendly and the pool was nice,
We got a room on the third floor and from the door we had an incredible view of the street and the bay. We could also see the ocean too, but the sunset on the bay was pretty epic.
Also, very mellow surroundings, with a few great food options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A liquor store across the street, and a block away from the beach.
Will return this summer for sure and would recommend to anyone that wants to experience a great motel that keeps a very old school east coast beach habits.

The Windjammer is very much a big part of Seaside Park. It's been around for a very long time. Families return every year as my family does. The place is family owned and are super nice. There is a restaurant and bar on the premises that has a happy hour daily. The deck patio gets very crowded quickly. The pool is nice and is always sunny most of the day. The beach is only about a block away, and beach passes are included with the room fee. WiFi is free. There are regular motel rooms and 2 1/2 efficiency suites. We will always come back to this hotel.

Room Tip: I recommend the 2 1/2 room efficiencies

3 couples stayed at this motel this past weekend. The standard rooms were great. The efficiency were just ok. One small bed, a very old fridge, range, sink area and a very uncomfortable pull out couch. When we complained about the couch the owners quickly brought up a cot the next day that was more comfortable to sleep on. If we go again, I think we will stick with the standard rooms. The pool is great and cleann. Happy hour every day is a bonus. Owners are very pleasant. and free wifi!!

Room Tip: Stick with the standard rooms, if you are a couple.

The Windjammer is a storied landmark of Seaside Park. It's been around forever, and it is really surprising how many families return year after year to stay for a week or longer. The place is family owned (multi-generation), and the owners are friendly, accessible folks.

I'm not a NJ native, but wife is, and she spent many summers as a child staying at the Windjammer for weeks at a time. I grew up near Myrtle Beach, SC, and the Windjammer reminds me very much of some of the better mom-and-pops in Myrtle Beach and Carolina Beach. It's got a very homey feel to it, and is the opposite of the big-box impersonal hotels.

Visiting the Windjammer is almost like getting into a time machine, as the decor has not changed since at least the early 80s. My wife insists that the lobby still smells faintly of cigar smoke, just like it did when she was a kid. While the decor is dated, and the room towels are comically small, it is very clean and well maintained.

There is an on-site restaurant and bar. Happy Hour is daily from early afternoon through early evening, and features reasonably priced drink specials and generous portions of *free* food (and not just appetizer fare). The deck patio gets crowded quickly, but it's a very social atmosphere and a lot of fun.

The pool is nice and has full sun access for most of the day. The beach is only about a block away, and beach passes are included with the room fee. WiFi is also included, and is reasonably fast. Most rooms have a small fridge; some of the larger rooms have kitchenettes. If you don't mind a bit of a walk, you can easily walk from the Windjammer to the boardwalk at Seaside Heights along the walkway next to the beach.

If you're after a nostalgic motel experience at the shore, you'd be hard pressed to do any better than the Windjammer.

The rooms are comfortable, the pool is always crystal clear blue, the bar is great and outdoor deck make you feel like your on a tropical island. I block from the ocean and bay. They serve a great breakfast and lunch. A nice comfortable lobby and game room. The one bedroom units have everything to make you feel like your home

This was our second stay there. The atmosphere there was very friendly. Check in and out was very smooth. Heated pool was great. One block from the beach which was very clean. We are planning a third trip there this September

Room Tip: The pricing is very reasonable
