“You can judge a seafood restaurant by its Chicken Parm!”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

Used to eat here during the winter months years ago but stopped because of deteriorating quality of the restaurant. Went there last night and WOW! what a difference. Totally remodeled (thanks to Hurricane Sandy), new owners who really care, new wait staff that were very friendly, and good food! I had the chicken parm with a side Caesar salad. Very good! I will return and might even try seafood. Glad I took a chance to go there.

“Fresh, fresh, seafood”
Reviewed November 16, 2013

The 6 of us ordered from the restaurant week menu and were all very happy with the seafood amount and quality. The Thai salmon was done to perfection, moist yet with a tangy sweet caramelized topping that did not over power the fish or add to many unnecessary calories. Yes, the garlic crabs are wonderful, messy, and irresistible! 3 of us ordered the "Jersey Shore" which was attractively served, easy to eat and deliciously prepared lobster, crab, shrimp, corn, potatoes,Yumm ! Service was spot on, thanks Rose! We met the owner, turns out Gary and partner were former Wall streeters now moved to the shore and hands on managers. Décor was clean and not overdone. Try it, you'll like it!

“Good food, good service”
Reviewed November 12, 2013 via mobile

Bum Rogers is a casual seafood place and we went as part of Jersey Shore Restaurant Week. After hearing mixed reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of the meal.

Our server, Chris, was pleasant and attentive. The calamari was tender and nicely cooked. The lobster bisque, while tasty, could have used a bit more lobster.

For dinner I had 2 nice sized crab cakes which, while nicely prepared, were room temperature, as was the rice and asparagus. My husband's zuppa de pesce was piping hot with tasty marinara and plentiful, well prepared seafood.

The only 2 dessert choices for this special menu were apple strudel which got a thumbs up from my husband, and the chocolate mousse, which is really enjoyed.

I look forward to going back to try their regular menu.

“What a difference a year makes”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

We had gone to Bum Rodgers, that is actually in Seaside park, NJ, last year at about this time frame. The rebuild after s sandy and a change of ownership has done a world of good for this restaurant. The "down the shore" charm is there but the layout is much better. The service is good and the prices are quite reasonable. All that said I go out to eat for the food and in this case the meals were very good. As much as I would have enjoyed trying everything on the menu I had to pick something. My wife had a fried dish and I had a dinner choice from the specials menu. The deep fried items were lite and not oily, my dish was absolutely delicious. This is a new and improved restaurant, only the name remains the same. Try it, I think you will come away pleased.
